RECOVERY ACADEMY OF IRELAND are people in recovery, supporters,
advocates, researchers and professionals who want to promote and
champion the concept of recovery. We work to give people in recovery a
voice and to challenge the associated stigma, providing peer recovery
coach training for people in addiction recovery who in return become
catalysts for positive change. This is done through a partnership
approach with existing addiction recovery services.

The Recovery Academy now require a part time recovery coach for 6
months. This role is specifically targeted at people with direct
experience of addiction and addiction recovery services. The Recovery
Academy seeks to improve people?s involvement in recovery services
with the invaluable contribution of people with direct experience of
services. This role provides full training and support.

JOB TITLE: RECOVERY COACH (6 MONTHS PART-TIME: **APPLY ON THE
WEBSITE** HOURS WEEKLY)

LOCATION: North Dublin

REPORTS TO: Project Team Leader

PURPOSE:

The Recovery Coach will assist the Recovery Academy in working with
existing services that are working to improve service participants
quality of life, by utilising strategies form harm reduction to
developing recovery capital, maintaining a drug and or alcohol-free
lifestyle, increasing career and education opportunities, reducing
recidivism and building positive relationships.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

EDUCATION

* Recovery Coach training (essential)
* Recognised qualification at minimum level 7
* Working towards a qualification in social care or addiction
studies (desirable)

EXPERIENCE

* Experience of co-producing and co-delivery of courses, workshops
and group work
* Lived experience of recovery and direct experience of recovery
related services and aftercare (at least 2 years post treatment)
* Experience of Service user participation

KNOWLEDGE

* A working knowledge of administration systems including Microsoft
office, word & power point.
* Knowledge of Service user participation strategies including out
reach
* Knowledge of the Recovery Academy of Ireland
* Knowledge of developed plans for relapse prevention and
maintaining recovery

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Good communication and team working skills.
* Willingness to positively share your own personal experiences of
recovery.
* Knowledge and understanding of care and support for individuals
with dual diagnoses.
* Knowledge of psychoeducational workshops/courses and how to meet
the diverse needs of people in recovery.
* Willingness to undertake further training/courses as appropriate
to the role.
* Effective planning and organisational skills and ability to work
evenings is a must.
* Ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with service users,
family members and a multitude of healthcare professionals.
* Demonstrate effective analytical, problem solving and
decision-making skills.
* Ability to contribute proactively, positively and effectively
across the organisation.
* Commitment to meeting the needs of excluded and marginalised
people.
* Respect for the values and ethos Recovery Academy Ireland.
