The Residential Social Care Team Leader (RSCTL) will be responsible to
the Residential Social Care Manager/Deputy Social Care Manager. As
RSCTL, the post holder will, by example, set the highest standards of
social care practice, leading and supporting all social care staff in
the service.

The RSCTL will:

* provide a Key-Worker role to traumatized children to ensure
positive outcomes.
* be responsible for decision making and oversee the quality of the
work of the social care workers whilst on duty. This includes ensuring
that all work is carried in accordance to practice standards, policy
and Legislation.
* work effectively as part of a social care staff team and
demonstrate a commitment to ongoing personal and professional
development.
* ensure that social care/therapeutic interventions are delivered
appropriately to children in accordance with guidance set by Social
Care Manager/Deputy Manager.
* ensure interventions are delivered with adherence to
organizational policy and procedures as determined by governance
arrangements.
* abide by health & safety requirements consistently.
* work on a rota basis including overnights, weekend cover and
on-call duties on a rotational basis. On call duty requires the
on-call person to complete shifts if no other staff are available.
This requirement tends to be infrequent.
* complete placement plans and placement support plans in
conjunction with management and staff.
* attend and actively participate in management and clinical
supervision.
* ensure that confidentiality is always maintained, in accordance
with best practice, with regard to both staff files and young people's
files and information.
* undertake any other reasonable tasks as may be assigned to you
from time to time including the upkeep of the house and the
surrounding area.

ABOUT BRIGHTER FUTURES FOR CHILDREN

Brighter Futures for Children (BFFC) Ltd aims to help children
overcome developmental trauma resulting from adverse childhood
experiences such as neglect and child abuse. BFFC specialises in the
provision of therapeutic communities wherein children enjoy positive
nurturing relationships with supportive adults. For this reason, all
staff are expected to undertake therapeutic training and continuous
personal therapy throughout the lifetime of their employment with
BFFC. Additionally, BFFC will commission and provide evidence-informed
therapeutic intervention that have demonstrated effectiveness in
assisting traumatized to heal.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

You?MUST?possess one of the qualifications listed below:

* Ordinary Bachelor?s Degree in Applied Social Care Studies awarded
by a recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of
Qualifications)
* National Diploma in Applied Social Care Studies awarded by
HETAC/IT
* Ordinary Bachelor?s Degree in childcare awarded by a recognised
body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications.
* National Diploma in Childcare awarded by HETAC/IT.
* Ordinary Bachelor?s Degree in Social Care awarded by a
recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualification.
* Diploma in Social Care awarded by HETAC/IT.
* Diploma in Applied Social Studies/Social Care from IT.
* Ordinary Bachelor?s Degree in Social Care Practice awarded by a
recognised body (Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications).
* National Diploma in Applied Social Studies (Disabilities), The
Open Training College (HETAC Accredited).
* An equivalent social care qualification from another jurisdiction
* Ordinary Bachelor's degree in a related and relevant field.
Qualifications considered as a related and relevant field are: Degree
in Psychology, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy, Youth and Community
Work, Social Work, Social Sciences, Teaching & Nursing

YOU MUST HAVE 3 YEARS? EXPERIENCE OF WORKING AT SOCIAL CARE GRADE
WITH CHILDREN AND THE ABILITY TO;

* you have a full clean driving licence valid in the Republic of
Ireland or the UK.
* manage self in a busy working environment and prioritize workload.
* demonstrate a commitment to ensuring high standards and strive for
a user centred service.
* show initiative and innovation in identifying areas for service
improvement.
* display awareness and appreciation of the children as experts
through experience including promoting the involvement of the children
in care planning, decision-making and service development.
* empathize with and treat others with dignity and respect.
* evaluate information and make effective decisions especially about
the care of the children.
* display effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and
written) skills.
* effective team skills.
* work flexibly and show an openness to change

HOURS OF WORK:

7 x **Apply on the website** hour shifts a month (Some flexibility
around swapping shifts with other workers may be possible)

Staff are required to attend Team Meetings and Group Supervision every
other Tuesday from 9am to 5pm.
