Job Title: POLICY MANAGER

Reports to: DIRECTOR OF POLICY, ADVOCACY AND CAMPAIGNING

Contract: FULL-TIME, PERMANENT

Location: THE ORGANISATION IS OPERATING ON A HYBRID BASIS FOR THE
FORESEEABLE FUTURE. OUR NATIONAL OFFICE IS BASED AT TALLAGHT IN SOUTH
DUBLIN.

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this post is to consolidate Early Childhood Ireland?s
already significant role in early years policy development and
influencing. The Policy Manager plays a key role in ensuring that the
organisation achieves the ambitions of our strategic plan: to advocate
for children, and to work with our members to demonstrate and champion
high-quality services, practices and outcomes in centres and
childminders? homes. The post holder manages the policy team, which
is responsible for developing consistent and coherent policy positions
which represent children?s best interests. The Manager monitors
closely the progress or otherwise of these positions in the public
sphere and within Early Childhood Ireland?s extensive representation
role on a wide range of policy forums. The postholder will also
oversee a programme of renewed work to connect our diverse membership
with policy and programme development. The role is demanding and will
require the holder to be both proactive and reactive in working to
progress the key advocacy aims of Early Childhood Ireland.

The Manager is a senior member of the Policy, Advocacy and Campaigning
Team and will also serve as a resource and contributor throughout the
organisation.
