_ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED_

The Candidate needs to demonstrate the following Skills:

* Basic knowledge of Wildlife Protection legislation
* Experience managing staff and volunteers working together
* Working knowledge of an accounting system
* Working knowledge and/or experience of payroll systems, employment
rules and regulations
* Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel and Zoom
* Understanding and appreciation of Employee rights and regulations
* Understanding of Facilities Management and Project Planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Qualification in Management, Community Development or Facility
Management.

DESIRABLE:

* Experience working in a Wildlife Rehabilitation centre

_JOB DEFINITION_

The Centre Manager will manage a large team of employees, interns, TUS
or CE participants and volunteers. They will be responsible for the
management and development of the WRI Hospital to the highest
standard. The Manager will develop and maintain good and effective
relationships with the Board of Directors, sub groups, interns,
volunteers, statutory agencies, community organisations and the
community of Wildlife Rehabilitators.

The specific responsibilities of the Manager may change and evolve
over time depending on the needs of the organisation and its
stakeholders. This job description is indicative of the role at this
time and reasonable changes in the functions and responsibilities may
be agreed with the Manager if required.

THE MANAGER WILL BE COMMITTED TO THE POLICIES, AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF
THE WRI AND BE EXPECTED OVER A PERIOD OF TIME TO CO-ORDINATE AND
DEVELOP WORK IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS.

_BOARD OF DIRECTORS_

* Consult with the Board on future strategies for WRI
* Agree and prepare Minutes, Agendas and Financial reports for Board
meetings
* Attend Board meetings and prepare Board Reports detailing
recommendations /proposals for Board decision.
* Maintain all internal procedure manuals covering all aspects of
the organisation
* Carry out any requests as required by the Board from time to time.
* Develop and implement a marketing strategy to provide a high
profile for the company.

_HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT_

* Provide effective recruitment and management of all Direct and
Indirect staff, interns and volunteers engaged by the organisation
* Liaise with TUS or CE sponsors and other relevant bodies to ensure
the management and co-ordination of manpower planning including the
recruitment and selection of suitable staff in line with sponsor and
WRI guidelines and procedures.
* Ensure the preparation and execution of induction and training
programs, for all new staff, interns and volunteers.
* Supervise and support on-going performance management, appraisal,
time keeping and attendance records for staff, interns and volunteers.
* To ensure that health and safety standard requirements relating to
the premises are adhered to and continuously monitored and updated.

_COMMUNICATIONS & NETWORKING_

* Liaise with relevant statutory and voluntary bodies as required.
* Liaise and maintain relationships with all stakeholders including
sponsors, funders, media, the board of directors and its sub
committees.
* Represent and participate in Networks in the community sector to
promote the WRI and its services.
* Ensure the maintenance of social media and prepare press releases
and newsletter updates.
* Respond to third party communications in a timely manner
* Update job knowledge by participating in educational
opportunities; reading professional publications.
* Communicate customer issues with team and devise ways of improving
the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints

_MANAGEMENT OF WRI HOSPITAL_

Manage the WRI Hospital and Site in accordance with Best Practice

* Ensure designated areas and facilities are well maintained, fully
functional and in line with best practice and modern designs.
* Manage Hospital facilities, Light, Heat, Phones, Insurance and all
factors that affect the profit margin
* Oversee daily operations within the wildlife hospital in line with
WRI protocols, keeping all records and paperwork up to date.
* Analyse and improve organisational process and workflow, employee
and space requirements, and equipment layout.
* Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing,
following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with
legal regulations
* Review and approve all operational invoices and ensure they are
submitted for payment
* Serve as primary point of contact when there are customer issues
related to equipment quality, customer service, or accidents and
mishaps on-site.
* Work closely with the management team to set and/or implement
policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with
implementation.
* Manage weekly Operations team meetings.
* Maintain stock and inventory analysis and ensure inventory is
utilised effectively. Purchase and maintain equipment and maintain
inventory data to minimise costs.
* Manage staff, interns and volunteers in provision of education
programmes, building maintenance and animal management.

_HEALTH & SAFETY_

* Ensure that the Health and Safety Statement complies with all
necessary procedures and practices required by the organisation and
the Health and Safety Authority.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures for best practice
and recommend additions or amendments to existing policies to ensure
proper and comprehensive procedures.
* Ensure that all participants, volunteers, staff and associated
organisations are aware that policies and procedures exist and that
they understand their responsibility in this area.
* Be familiar with and comply with Health & Safety policies
including but not limited to fire prevention policies, and participate
in fire drill exercises.

_FINANCIAL RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT_

* Maintain comprehensive records, and documentation to the highest
standards.
* Prepare Annual Budgets, and Monthly Management reports for the
board.
* Prepare Payroll for direct employees
* Assist external auditors in the preparation of Annual Financial
Audits and Social Audits.
* Ensure that all grant applications and returns are properly
prepared, executed and submitted on time.
* Research and bring forward new funding proposals for the
organisations
