LOCATION: TU Dublin Students Union operates on the following campuses

* Blanchardstown Campus
* City Campus (Aungier Street, Bolton Street and Grangegorman)
* Tallaght Campus

This role will be primarily based in TU Dublin Aungier Street Campus,
but travel to other locations will be required.

This is a 5 Day a week position with a 6-month probation period, based
in Dublin.

THE ORGANISATION

TU Dublin Students? Union is currently in a period of exciting
change with the development of the new state-of-the-art campus at
Grangegorman and having recently become Ireland?s first
Technological University.

TU Dublin Students? Union is unusual in Ireland in that the
operations of the Students? Union are run by a company limited by
guarantee. The company is owned by the Students of TU Dublin by virtue
of their membership of the Union.

The company does not involve itself with the Politics of the elected
representatives of the Students? Union and instead is tasked with
the operational functions of the Union including:

* Financial Management
* Human Resourcing
* Risk Management

Other administrative functions such as operational policy development
and office management.

THE ROLE

This is an exciting role in TU Dublin SU, the largest
Students??Union in Ireland, offering the opportunity to support
the work of the Elected Officers by assisting them in
the?development?and?delivery?of our?services?in the
welfare and equality area. This will include assisting with the team
in the implementation of campaigns and supporting policy development,
aimed at enhancing the student experience for all our?members.

This is not a representational role, it supports the work of the
elected Welfare and Equality Officers.

Supporting the efficient operation of the work of the Student Advice
Team is also a key part of the job.

This role would suit someone who works well in a dynamic and
multi-faceted setting. The successful candidate should be able to show
initiative and demonstrate that they are able to work well in a busy
team environment. are?fully supported.?

As an organisation run for students and by students, the Welfare &
Equality Exec is expected to maintain the ethos of the organisation in
all work matters.?

This is a unique opportunity to develop a wide range of skills in a
friendly and dynamic environment. As this is a new role relevant tasks
may be added to the role as it evolves.

CORE DUTIES: WELFARE AND EQUALITY

* To assist and support the elected Welfare & Equality Officers in
the development of policy initiatives, activities and campaigns
associated with their brief, to assist them with research, budgeting,
scheduling, and implementation plans.
* Assist in the preparation of welfare and equality information,
advice, and guidance to students, elected officers and staff.
* Assist with the research for, and compilation of data and reports
within the scope of welfare and equality brief
* Assist with the development of training and guidance materials for
staff and students on welfare and equality matters within the
Students? Union
* Assist in devising and implementing strategies for increasing
awareness of welfare and equality matters
* Assist with monitoring of student welfare and equality issues
throughout TU Dublin ensuring that students obtain a professional
service in keeping with best practice models of the 3rd level sector

SUPPORTING THE ADVICE SERVICE

* Assist in the maintenance and updating of the CRM system, producing
reports, reporting on trends, and supporting staff users as required.
* As required, provide advice and representation to students with
complex welfare casework, including referrals within TU Dublin and to
relevant external welfare agencies
* Assist with the administration of the Student Advice team
including the organisation of meetings, training, the preparation of
resources to ensure the highest standard of service is delivered to
our students, in line with?all TU Dublin SU?CLG policies and
procedures (confidentiality, boundaries, record-keeping and excellent
customer service)

ENGAGEMENT WITH STAKEHOLDERS

* Contribute to the development and implementation of TU Dublin
SU?s Volunteering Strategy and programme.
* Attend and participate in relevant TU Dublin committees within the
welfare and equality remit in conjunction with the Elected Officers
* Engage and build relationships with external welfare services
* Develop partnerships with relevant TU Dublin departments to
enhance and inform their understanding of student welfare and equality
concerns
* Work with the Management Team on reporting, governance and
accountability processes, participation on relevant groups and
committees as appropriate

OTHER

* Collaborate with the management team in the preparation and
implementation the annual Work Plan
* Assist in the preparation of regular reports for Student Council
and the Board of TU Dublin SU CLG.
* Monitor and report on national and international alliances with
other Students? Unions
* Keep abreast of national and international trends and initiatives
within the scope of the welfare and equality brief report back to the
organization

REQUIREMENTS

_ESSENTIAL:_

* A minimum of 2 years? current experience in a busy administrative
role
* Excellent IT skills and experience with Microsoft suite especially
Teams
* Proficiency in CRM databases/systems especially Salesforce
* A proven experience in previous role that requires knowledge of
and understanding of the principles of data protection and
confidentiality

_DESIRABLE:_

* Post Leaving Certificate or equivalent qualification
* Previous experience working with third-level students and/or youth
advocacy groups
* A good understanding of data compilation and report-writing
* Strong organisational skills and adaptability in a fast-paced
environment.
* Ability to troubleshoot difficult situations, and deal with them
calmly, efficiently, and effectively
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
