The following vacancies exist to join the following teams in KARE:

* A permanent Basic Grade Occupational therapist to join KARE?s
experienced multi-disciplinary Clinical Team who support adults with a
primary diagnosis of Intellectual Disability who attend KARE day
service or live in a KARE residential house. This post is based in
Kilcullen, with opportunities for remote working.
* A permanent Basic Grade Occupational Therapist to join the Young
Adults team. This is an opportunity to be part of an exciting new
initiative and join a newly formed multi-disciplinary Clinical Team.
The Young Adults team supports, school leavers with complex needs who
live and/or attend services across the whole CH**Apply on the
website**. This post is based in Kill, Co. Kildare but also affords
the opportunity for remote working and working across the whole

The successful candidates will be offered continuing professional
development and the opportunity to work within an extensive
multi-disciplinary team.

DUTIES

* Integrate occupational therapy skills with current occupational
therapy theory and relevant supporting evidence-based knowledge
* Conduct standardised/non-standardised/observational assessments
that identify occupational and functional needs in the areas of
self-care, productivity, and leisure
* Adhere to the principle of informed consent prior to and
throughout interventions.
* Apply clinical reasoning to plan, grade, implement and modify
interventions that are outcome based and relevant to person?s goals
* Facilitate individual intervention, education sessions/groups with
individuals, parents or other support staff
* Ensure electronic records and report writing are up to date
* Actively promote collaborative working relationships within
multidisciplinary teams
* Prioritise and manage a caseload under supervision from a Senior
Therapist/team manager.
* Maintain professional standards in relation to confidentiality,
ethics and legislation

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

* Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) or an Occupational
Therapy qualification recognised by the Occupational Therapists
Registration Board at CORU
* CORU registered or be able to show proof of pending registration
* Relevant post qualification or under-graduate placement experience
in a disability setting with adults or children.
* Eligible to work in Ireland
* Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle
* Excellent communication skills - oral and written
* Ability to work in a self-directed manner and to work as part of a
team
* Excellent time management skills
* Good IT and computer skills
* Effective use of reflective practice/supervision process
* Some flexibility in working hours will be required to meet the
needs of the service

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

* Postgraduate qualification and experience implementing a sensory
approach
* Postgraduate/undergraduate experience with **Apply on the

* Experience in upper limb
