YOUNG MAN TO LIVE AN INDEPENDENT LIFE.
?iseanna Taca?ochta (?T) provides leadership and support to people
with disabilities to live with the independence, choice and freedom
they are entitled to. For the first time in Ireland, we facilitate
Direct Payments to people with disabilities, enabling them to take
control of their own budgets, their own services and, ultimately,
their own lives.
The Personal Assistant is required to assist a young man who has a
high-level spinal cord injury within his home. The successful
candidates will receive training and development in line with the
role. This role is suitable for highly motivated and reliable
individual who is committed provide care and supporting someone to
live an independent life in their community.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Position ? Part-time Personal Assistant
Location - Lucan, Co. Dublin
Salary (Hourly rate) :

A combination of the above hours can be agreed with the successful
candidate. Candidates must be flexible and available to work as on
some occasions there may be longer shifts available.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Providing physical assistance with personal care, which is to be
completed with dignity and respect for privacy (including showering
and dressing)
* Medication administration, bladder washes and stoma care (relevant
training will be provided for these tasks)
* Manual hoist transfers to and from wheelchair
* Board transfers to and from wheelchair
* Attending and assisting to community outings and social activities
when needed
* Providing support to the individual upon request such as helping
with domestic and other everyday tasks, e.g., meal preparation,
routine house cleaning, daily exercises, shopping etc.
* As a father of one, part of the work will involve minimal
assistance in supporting as a parent
* To undertake other work that may be assigned from time to time
ESSENTIAL FOR THE ROLE:
* FETAC Level 5 in Health Care or equivalent experience or experience
* Manual handling experience/qualification is essential
* Must be available to attend all mandatory training
* Good knowledge of food hygiene
* Full clean driving licence (Individual needs to be **Apply on the

* Previous experience working with someone with a spinal cord injury
is desirable but not essential
* An understanding of disability and philosophy of Independent
Living
