1 FULL AND 1 PART TIME PROJECT WORKER

The School Completion Programme (SCP) was set up as part of the
Department of Education and Skills (DES) DEIS Strategy ? Delivering
Equality of Opportunity in Schools. SCP is now funded by Tusla, the
Child and Family Agency, and delivers interventions to both primary
and post primary children and young people who have been identified as
potentially at risk of leaving school early. There are **Apply on the

post-primary schools.

Drimnagh/Bluebell/Inchicore SCP is based in Dublin 8 and **Apply on
the website** and comprises of eight schools in the cluster (five
primary and three post primary).

We wish to recruit 1 FULL TIME AND 1 PART TIME PROJECT WORKER FROM
APRIL **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE**. The job will entail assisting the
Local Coordinator in implementing the programme locally, as follows:

* The organisation and facilitation of After School Clubs, Transfer
Programmes, Holiday supports and personal development programmes for
young people in primary and post primary schools and other
interventions/programmes as required.
* To provide academic, behavioral and emotional support to select
participants in groups and on a one-to-one basis, supporting
solution-focused outcomes.
* To liaise with school personnel, external agencies and
families/guardians as required.
* To maintain written records of work with students and produce
written reports as required.
* To assist in the planning, development and evaluation of SCP.
* To attend meetings and participate in staff training where
relevant.
* Any other duties as required by the Local Coordinator and Local
Management Committee.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

To successful candidates will have:

_QUALIFICATIONS_

A recognised third level qualification (minimum Level 8 on the NFQ) in
a relevant discipline (i.e., psychology, education,
counselling/psychotherapy, youth work). Training in therapeutic or
health allied practices (i.e., cognitive behavioural therapy, mental
health promotion, art or play therapy, etc.) will be an advantage.

_EXPERIENCE& KNOWLEDGE_

* A minimum of 2 years? practical experience of working with
children and young people and families who experience disadvantage is
essential.
* Experience of working with children and young people on a
one-to-one basis and in groups is essential.
* Experience of facilitating evidence-based evidence informed
programmes for children and young people is desirable.
* Experience of working in a primary and or post primary school
essential
* Knowledge of the needs of children and families, with a particular
emphasis on children living in areas listed as disadvantaged, is
desirable.
* Understanding of Children First guidelines;

_SKILLS& ABILITIES_

* Commitment to the delivery of quality services to children and
families.
* Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with
the vulnerable children and young people in our schools, as well as
within the organization, within our schools and externally.
* Excellent communication, planning, organizational, networking and
report writing skills.
* Excellent teamwork skills and ability to work on own initiative
but seek guidance as appropriate.
* Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
* Positive, solution-focused approach.

_OTHER_

* Garda vetting will apply
* Full, clean driving license and own transport

REMUNERATION

Salary as per CDYSB NEW ENTRANT SALARY SCALE FOR YOUTH WORKER,
starting point dependent on skills and experience. This will be a
fixed term/specified purpose contract from APRIL **APPLY ON THE
