For?ige is the National Youth Development Organisation, which
promotes and fosters youth development through the operation of
various youth services in urban and rural areas throughout the
country. For?ige is currently recruiting for the following position:
SENIOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING OFFICER
As a country, Ireland?s Mission and Vision for its children and
young people is set out in the cross Government _NATIONAL POLICY
FRAMEWORK FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE: BETTER OUTCOMES, BRIGHTER
FUTURES _which seeks to improve outcomes for all children and young
people and to ensure Ireland is one of the best small countries in the
world in which to grow up and raise a family, and where the rights of
all children and young people are respected, protected and fulfilled;
where their voices are heard and where they are supported to realise
their maximum potential now and in the future.
The aim of Hub na n?g is To be a centre of excellence and support
Government Departments, State agencies and non-government
organisations to give children and young people a voice on decisions
that affect their lives, with a particular focus on seldom-heard
children and young people.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL
REQUIREMENTS;
* Education to National Degree standard (E) or postgraduate (D)
* Considerable understanding of child and youth participation
theories and methodologies (E)
* A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience (E)
* A minimum of three years? experience working in
education/training (E)
* In-depth knowledge of national and international policy frameworks
related to children and young people?s participation in
decision-making (E)
* Significant experience of team working and facilitation skills (E)
