PROJECT SUPPORT WORKER WITH PPN

(PART TIME SPECIFIED PURPOSE CONTRACT)

Southside Partnership DLR CLG, in association with the Dun
Laoghaire-Rathdown Public Participation Network (DLR PPN), is
currently recruiting for the following position of Project Support
Worker.

D?N LAOGHAIRE-RATHDOWN PUBLIC PARTICIPATION NETWORK (DLR PPN) is an
independent umbrella network of community & voluntary, environmental
and social inclusion groups active within the county. Public
Participation Networks (PPNs) were established by the Irish government
under the Local Government (Reform) Act **Apply on the website** to be
the main link through which the Local Authority connects with these
groups.?

DLR PPN is governed by a voluntary board elected from the DLR PPN
membership whose responsibility is to oversee the development of the
network and ensure that the objectives of the PPN are carried out. DLR
PPN currently has one full-time staff member who manages the
day-to-day running of the PPN.

DLR PPN WORK FROM 3 MAIN OBJECTIVES:

* Facilitate the participation and representation of communities in a
fair, equitable and transparent manner through the environmental,
social inclusion, community and voluntary sectors on decision making
bodies.
* Strengthen the capacity of communities and of the environmental,
social inclusion, community and voluntary groups to contribute
positively to the community in which they reside/participate.
* Provide information relevant to the environmental, social
inclusion, community and voluntary sector and act as a hub around
which information is distributed and received.?

THE ROLE OF PROJECT SUPPORT WORKER

This is a part time (4 day per week) specified purpose contract, based
in the Blackrock office, with some remote working. The salary for the

for 4 days per week.

The position is for the specified purpose of maternity leave cover.
Subject to completion of the probationary period, the position will
terminate on the return of the substantive post-holder or if the
substantive post-holder vacates the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Operating the day to day administration of the PPN;
* Maintaining the Salesforce database of member groups;
* Researching, collating and distributing a monthly newsletter;
* Managing and updating the DLR PPN website;
* Operating social media accounts;
* Supporting the Network Manager to plan and organise events,
trainings, workshops and meetings including booking venues, sourcing
and booking trainers/speakers/facilitators, sending invitations and
reminders, registration processes and any follow up needed;
* Communicating with members by email and phone, including dealing
with requests for information or advice;
* Preparing documentation, minute taking and reporting or on any
other reasonable tasks as directed;
* Supporting the DL PPN manager to devise materials to be used for
PPN activities, for example online consultations, public meetings,
workshops, surveys etc.
* Collating information for reports;
* Promoting the PPN and its work to member groups and the wider
community ad stakeholders;
* Any other work which may be assigned by the Network Manager on the
day to day operation of the PPN.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

* A third-level qualification is required;
* Previous experience in successful engagement with community and/or
voluntary organisations is desirable;
* Possess a strong understanding of the importance and potential of
public and community participation and of building sustainable
communities;
* Computer proficiency (MS Office suite, etc)?;
* Experience in the use of social media, digital communication tools
and in the management of websites;
* Have their own vehicle and possess a full Driver?s Licence.

* Flexibility to work on evenings and weekends.
