South Inner City Drug and Alcohol Task Force: Invitation to Tender


The South Inner City Drug and Alcohol Task Force ( SICDATF) is seeking
an individual or organisation to work with the SICDATF on a community
engagement project, ?Reduce the Health-related Harms from Cocaine
and ?Crack? Cocaine in the south inner city. ???

SCOPE OF PROJECT: To engage with communities in the SICDATF
geographical remit and through a consultation process identify:

* what supports are required to manage the impact of Health-related
Harms from Cocaine and ?Crack? Cocaine on individuals, families,
and communities.
* ?Co-design training, workshops and learning events that can
support individuals, families and communities.?
* Identify suitable training, workshops and learning events that can
support individuals, families and communities.

SICDATF REMIT: The SICDATF is committed to implementing the goals of
Government policy on drug and alcohol use as set out in the national
drugs strategy (NDS)Reducing Harm, Supporting Recovery **Apply on the

strategy is the Healthy Ireland Framework. The strategy aims to
promote healthier lifestyles within society and encourage people to
make healthier choices around drug and alcohol use.

FIVE STRATEGIC GOALS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED UNDER THE STRATEGY:

* Promote and protect health and wellbeing
* Minimise the harms caused by the use and misuse of substances and
promote rehabilitation and recovery
* Address the harms of drug markets and reduce access to drugs for
harmful use
* Support participation of individuals, families and communities
* Develop sound and comprehensive evidence-informed policies and
actions

Local and regional drug and alcohol task forces implement the national
drugs strategy in the context of the needs of their local area. The
SICDATF is implementing actions under its strategic work plan that
relate to Goal four of the NDS.

* Promote and protect health and wellbeing
* Support participation of individuals, families and communities
* Strengthen the resilience of communities and build their capacity
to respond & enable participation of both users of services and their
families to respond to the impact of drugs and alcohol.

BACKGROUND TO THE PROJECT:

In January **Apply on the website**, Frank Feighan TD, Minister of
State for Public Health, Wellbeing, and the National Drugs Strategy,

recurring funding for an HSE-led initiative to reduce the
health-related harms associated with the use of cocaine and
?crack? cocaine. Community Health Organisations were invited to
submit proposals to deliver interventions for cocaine problems and
this will include communities where there is a significant issue with
?crack? cocaine. The SICDATF ?project aims to reduce the
Health-related Harms from Cocaine and ?Crack? Cocaine for
individuals, families and communities. It will provide a model of best
practice compatible with Sl?intecare and the goals of 'Reducing Harm
Supporting Recovery' and the National Drug Rehabilitation Framework.
SICDATF is working with partner organisations to deliver programs for
people using cocaine and crack cocaine. The SICDATF will now develop
and identify a range of support to address the impact on individuals,
families and communities.

OBJECTIVES:

* To work with the? Project Oversight Group and The SICDATF ??to
consult with communities impacted by cocaine and crack cocaine use to
identify and develop where possible through co-design community
training, learning events, materials and workshops to support
communities.
* To coordinate and deliver the training, ?learning events and
workshops.
* To identify suitable materials to share with stakeholders.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:?

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE AT THE LATEST DATE OF APPLICATION: Knowledge
about addiction and well-versed in adult learning styles.

QUALIFICATIONS AND/ OR EXPERIENCE:

* Experience working and consulting with communities.
* The knowledge to design and co-design workshops and prepare any
learning materials needed.
* Conduct surveys to judge how the learning is received and if
changes are needed.

TRAINER/ FACILITATION ?REQUIREMENTS:

* Prior experience as a trainer/ facilitator or a similar position.
* Prior experience in delivering community-based training/ workshops
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to convey complex information in an understandable way.
* Knowledge of various teaching methods.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
