PURPOSE OF ROLE: With a vibrant team and rapidly growing business
supporting individuals and families Barr?g Healthcare are looking for
a candidate with considerable knowledge and experience of working in
the field of residential and social care.

The Residential Manager will be responsible for the management and
effective delivery of residential care services.? They will be
responsible for the day to day operations of the unit and ensure it
runs smoothly and in accordance with the policies and procedures of
Barr?g Healthcare and in line with HIQA National Standards for
Children?s Residential Centres.

To manage the home in accordance with its Statement of Purpose and to
ensure the maintenance of a safe and caring environment in accordance
with relevant childcare legislation, HIQA national standards and
Barr?g Healthcare Policies and Procedures.

?They will provide direct line management, supervision and leadership
for the Service and support our dynamic team and our business at an
exciting time of expansion.

The Residential Manager will ensure that the individuals we support
will be treated with dignity and respect, promoting a culture of
unconditional positive regard and compassion at all times.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

* To be involved in the recruitment and management of the staff team,
this will include supervision duties.
* To ensure that all care practices comply with relevant childcare
legislation, National Standards for Children?s Residential Centres,
and best practice.
* To actively promote, participate in and ensure the provision of
high standards of physical care, hygiene, and safety for all
children/young people resident in the Home.
* To manage the home so as to meet as far as possible the expressed
needs of the individual children/young people, and to promote positive
outcomes for them.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA QUALIFICATIONS AND /EXPERIENCE:

* A minimum of 3 years in a management or supervisory role in the
area of Social Care; and
* An appropriate qualification in health or social care management
at an appropriate level (that meets HIQA requirements for Person in
Charge)
* Have a minimum of five years? experience of working in Social
Care/ Disability / Child protection / Community care or other child
and family services with a similarly challenging client group.
* Candidates must have a suitable standard of professional
attainments.
* Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability
(including a high standard of suitability and management ability for
the proper discharge of the duties of the office).
* ?Have proficient ICT skills including a working knowledge of
Microsoft Packages - Excel and Word and be familiar with an email
package e.g. Lotus Notes/Outlook.
