_CONTEXT:_

IOM Ireland provides Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration
Programmes (AVRR) that are open to migrants (asylum seekers and
irregular migrants) from non-EEA countries, who wish to return home
voluntarily but do not have the means, including the necessary
documentation, to do so. Programme activities additionally include the
following areas of migration management: Resettlement, Family
Reunification and Counter-Trafficking.

Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Mission and the direct
supervision of the National Operations and Programme Officer, the
Operations Assistant will be responsible for:

_CORE FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:_

* Meet and assist applicants of the AVRR programme
* Systematically refer AVR applicants to the virtual counselling
(VC) focal point in IOM Ireland to arrange virtual counselling
sessions with IOM missions;
* When needed, refer AVR applicants with protection needs to the
National Protection Officer in outsourcing psycho-social support and
counselling in order to assist in their preparation for return.
* Maintain updated and accurate information in MiMOSA vis-?-vis
registration, case, and movement modules.
* Ensure that all pre-departure work and post-departure work is
completed (i.e., MiMOSA entries, Amadeus bookings, ABNs distribution,
IGATOR, Financial Forms, Ticketing, Departure notification, internal
spreadsheets) according to AVRR projects? and IOM guidelines.
* Select the most efficient route taking into consideration PoEs,
Cross-References, Medical Escort needs and final destinations.
* Maintain working relationship with receiving missions, providing
flight information, and responding to inquiries.
* Book travel and issue tickets in a timely manner, verify
information printed on tickets. Processes ticket costs in i-GATOR
* Maintain statistics of all reintegration cases from Ireland
updated for reporting purposes, ensuring all spreadsheets are kept up
to date, and share all statistics on a regular basis and for reporting
purposes.
* Act as main reintegration focal point and liaise on needs of
returnees and ensure IOM and partner agencies in country of origin are
informed of returnees and advised of potential reintegration needs.
Follow up on needed action with IOM Missions post return.
* Request monitoring forms to be completed by country of return
Missions in a timely manner and ensure M&E focal point and Operations
Officer is kept up to-date of all monitoring activities. Based on
feedback received, prepare stories of return for Communications
Officer
* Support the project manager in providing assistance to programme
refugees/resettlement cases, liaising with the Irish Governments
Resettlement Unit (IRPP), IOM Field Missions, and UNHCR in countries
of residence.
* Assist promoting green and sustainable initiatives throughout the
mission and provide regular updates on environmental issues.
* Assist the CoM in brainstorming on initiatives related to MECC

Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

_REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE_

EDUCATION

* High school diploma or equivalent or first level university degree
from an accredited academic institution,?preferably in
Communications, Journalism, International Development, Social and/or
Political Science.
* Two years? experience (or four years if school diploma) in the
field of international development/human rights/assistance to
vulnerable groups; prior work in assistance to migrant population an
advantage.

EXPERIENCE

* Good knowledge of information technology and proficiency in
Microsoft Office applications (in particular Excel).
* Previous work experience in international organisations /companies
would be an advantage.
* Previous experience and/or an interest in working with migrants or
vulnerable populations would be an advantage.

LANGUAGES

* Fluency in English is required
* Any other IOM official language is an advantage
