TEACHNADAOINE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE IS SEEKING TO EMPLOY

TITLE: MANAGER ? Teach Na Daoine Furniture Repair and Restore

REPORTING TO: MANAGER AND BOARD, Teach na Daoine

LOCATED AT: Teach Na Daoine Shopping Units, Cortolvin Road, Monaghan
Town

BACKGROUND:

Teach Na nDaoine proposes running a second-hand furniture sales and
repair / restoration service. All furniture presented for sale in the
store would be donated by the community. Each piece, post collection,
is cleaned, repaired, restored / painted / repaired etc. The facility
will act as an environmentally friendly affordable home improvements
facility for the local community and will provide a range of furniture
products primarily to older people, lone parents, travelling
community, ex-prisoners and the broader community in the greater area.
The range of products and restoration services will be targeted
primarily at disadvantaged groups and young people from the area;
however the facility will be open to any member of the community or
visitor to the area. This facility will be involved in the circular
economy, recycling used furniture for consumer demand with minimal
waste and a net benefit for the environment

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

* Day to day operations of the Furniture Restoration Facility.
* Manage and coordinate staff.
* Meeting of CSP targets and other operational targets.
* Marketing and Promotion of the Furniture Restoration Facility.
* Development of repair and restoration services at the facility.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

* To lead all areas of strategic and operational management of the
community services programme business based at the facility.
* To ensure the highest standards of quality, safety and customer
care in the facility.
* To ensure that the day-to-day operations maximise the financial
returns to the company whilst at the same time satisfying the
community needs and requirements.
* To ensure the effective and efficient implementation and operation
of all the Company?s normal and emergency policies and procedures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Management of Staff and Volunteers
* Marketing & Promotion of the business
* Financial Management of the Business
* Development of staffing rosters, balanced facility booking plans
and usage strategies to ensure optimum efficiency of the facility
* Development, implementation and monitoring of key operating
policies relevant to this industry in conjunction with the Board
* Developing clear communications with the key stakeholders in the
business
* Managing and monitoring the day-to-day operations of the facility.
* Carrying out other reasonable activities relevant to the
management as required by the Board.

JOB DETAILS AND SALARY

The salary for the position shall be ?**Apply on the

* The post will be based at Teach Na Daoine Family Resource Centre,
Mullaghmatt, Monaghan town.
* The normal working week will be **Apply on the website** hours per
week and the successful candidate is required to be flexible as the
post will include shift work. Over-time payments are not anticipated
as part of this project, therefore time off in lieu will be eligible
on agreement with line management procedures.
* The successful candidate must provide his/her own car for official
travel and a clean driving licence is required.
* Statutory annual leave arrangements shall apply.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

_1. ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS:_

skills
* A working knowledge of financial systems and skills in setting and
working to budgets
* Practical experience of marketing and publicity
* An ability to proactively engage with disadvantaged communities
* An excellent approach to customer care
* Demonstrable experience of working with a voluntary board and
managing volunteers.
* Knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation including
health and safety legislation.

_2. DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES:_

* Qualification in Community Development/Rural Development
* Have proven ability in making successful grant applications and
fundraising;
* Experience of working with volunteers;
* Live within reasonable travel distance;
* Flexible enough to meet the changing needs of a community
facility.
