Novas is a voluntary organisation and Approved Housing Body working
with families, children and single adults who are disadvantaged and
socially excluded; primarily those who are homeless or at risk of
being homeless. We provide a range of housing, health and recovery
services and accommodation for marginalised households throughout
Ireland primarily using a trauma informed approach (all staff are
trauma informed and trained) and a harm reduction model of support. We
also provide bespoke community based supported living services for
persons that find themselves homeless with complex support
requirements on both the Intellectual Disability and Mental Health
spectrums.

Novas are currently seeking applications from energetic and
enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Assessment & Placement
Officer at Clare County Council / Clare Homeless Action Team. The
successful candidates will be afforded necessary training and
development in line with the role. Candidates must be highly
motivated, creative and experienced with a passion for engaging with
clients who are homeless/at risk of homelessness.

POSITION: ASSESSMENT & PLACEMENT OFFICER (**APPLY ON THE WEBSITE**HPW)

CONTRACT: FIXED TERM **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE** MONTHS (SUBJECT TO
FUNDING)

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

* Minimum Level 7 Degree on National Framework of Qualifications
relating to Social Care, Housing, Youth and Community Work, Social
Work, Social Sciences, Education, Mental Health, Addiction, Healthcare
or Nursing and at least 1 years? experience in Tenancy Engagement,
Social Care, Housing and/or Homeless Services.
* Experience working with homeless people / homeless families and/or
other vulnerable groups, and an understanding of their needs
* Have an understanding of care and case management protocols
including; care planning, needs assessment, risk
management/assessment, incident management/prevention and key-working
* An ability to work in a service where clients have multiple and
complex needs
* Good working knowledge of relevant local services and the welfare
benefits system
* Good written and oral communication skills
* Good information technology (IT) skills
* Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
* Good conflict resolution skills
* A commitment to preventing and managing challenging behaviour
* A commitment to working from a trauma-informed perspective
* An openness to change
* Full clean driving license
