FIXED TERM - ONE YEAR PART-TIME CHILD AND FAMILY WORKER - **APPLY ON

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To deliver a number of high-quality programmes for children from
**Apply on the website** years and their parents/guardians, living in
the local area, under the direction of the Child and Family Team
Leader. To ensure a safe and supportive environment is provided to
families and to work in partnership with other organisations/agencies.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING:
* A qualification in Early Childhood Education, minimum level 6,
level 8 desirable
* A good understanding of Family Support work in a community-based
setting
* Experience of working directly with parents
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, possess good
leadership and facilitation skills
* Good computer skills; knowledge of Client Management Systems
software desirable
* Knowledge and understanding of the issues of poverty and social
exclusion and its impact on the local area
* Experience of working in an intercultural setting
* Aistear and S?olta knowledge and experience
* One to One parenting support and/or parenting course facilitation
skills
* Meitheal training/awareness
* Children?s First and First Aid training
* At least 3 years paid experience of working in a childcare/family
support setting
* Demonstrate a strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work on own
initiative
* A second language is desirable
