Exchange House Ireland National Travellers Service is the largest
front line Traveller specific service in Ireland. We are an
organisation of Traveller and non-Traveller people working together to
provide services to Traveller families, and Traveller young people and
children and Traveller men and women, many of whom are in crisis. We
pride ourselves in working with some of the most marginalised members
of the Traveller community.

We are a multi-disciplinary service provider offering Family Support
and Crisis Intervention Services, Children and Young Peoples?
Services, Addiction Services, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention
Services and Education and Training Services to members of the
Traveller community in the Dublin area. We also deliver various
national services through training, provision of expertise and
partnerships with other organisations providing services to Travellers
in Ireland.

LOCAL TRAINING INITIATIVE ASSISTANCE CO-ORDINATOR

JOB DESCRIPTION

Working as part of the Education Services team to assist in
developing, co-ordinating and implementing a City of Dublin Education
and Training Board (CDETB) Local Training Initiative (LTI) to meet the
adult education needs of Travellers. The aim of the programme is to
provide the learners with the opportunity to engage in a range of
adult basic education courses and to identify progression routes into
further training, education or employment options available

REPORTING TO:

Education and Training Service Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* The person appointed will be responsible for assisting in the
Co-ordination of a Traveller Specific Programme at QQI level 4,
including delivery and evaluation of the programme.
* They will assist in the financial management/monitoring of the
programme budget to ensure compliance with CDETB guidelines.
* Assist in identifying accreditation opportunities and help
learners in the completion of their QQI award
* To attend regular monthly meeting with the Education and Training
staff to identify any ongoing issues and develop ongoing plans
* To maintain projects records in accordance with the requirements
of Exchange House Ireland and CDETB
* To carry out any other duties deemed necessary within the
organisation

PERSON SPECIFICATION

* An awareness of the issues facing the Traveller community
* Minimum Level 6 qualification in Training Delivery & Evaluation or
equivalent
* Excellent communication and administrative skills
* Excellent IT skills
* Be capable of working on their own initiative
