supports individuals with intellectual disabilities to be active
participants within the community that they live.

Saint John of God Dublin South East invites applications for the
position of Instructor in our Day Services based in the South Dublin
area, to provide support to individuals with an intellectual
disability.

CANDIDATES SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

* A Fetac/QQI level 6 Qualification e.g. Social
Care/Training/Education/Teaching etc
* Commitment to a Person Directed Planning approach
* The ability to identify and develop people?s natural support
networks, work and social roles
* The ability to facilitate and support service-users, including
people with complex needs, in both service based and community
programmes.
* Knowledge of relevant national legislation and policy e.g. New
Directions
* Excellent communication, organisational, interpersonal and
teamwork skills
* Must have a full manual driving license _(please be advised that

towards a level 6_

SOCIAL CARE WORKERS

CANDIDATES WHO WOULD LIKE TO SUPPORT THE MEN AND WOMEN ATTENDING OUR
SERVICE SHOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

* Bachelor of Arts in Applied Social Studies/Social Care or
equivalent
* A proven track record in the delivery of Person Centered systems,
services and supports and awareness of positive behavior supports
* Excellent knowledge and understanding of relevant Health Act
Regulations, HIQA Standards and all other relevant legislation
* Experience of working with people who have an intellectual
disability (experience supporting Service Users with higher needs
advantageous)
* Experience of a residential setting is desirable
* Be innovative, resourceful, flexible and have excellent
communication, interpersonal, administrative and co-ordination skills.
* Ability to work both in a busy team environment and independently.
* Ability to support and facilitate independent living and community
integration.
* Experience in the area of human rights and advocacy.

_INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY STAFF NURSE_

_PERMANENT FULL-TIME CONTRACT_

We are seeking to employ Staff Nurses to support the continued
provision and development of dynamic, meaningful, person-centred
opportunities for adults with intellectual disabilities in our Day
Services.

SUITABLE CANDIDATES MUST:

* Be on the current register as maintained by An Bord Altranais /
NMBI
* RNID qualification preferable
* Assessments for non-nursing personnel may be part of this role
* Experience working with adults with an Intellectual Disability
with an excellent understanding of the health, social and emotional
needs of these individuals desirable
* Have experience/knowledge of Positive Behavioural Support
* Experience working with Multi-Disciplinary Teams (i.e.)
Psychology, Behavioural Support desirable
* Commitment to deliver all aspects of care and support through a
Person Centred Planning Approach
* Experience with Peg Feeding advantageous
* Demonstrate a commitment to promoting the rights of people with
disabilities
* Full clean driving licence (willingness to drive as part of role
is essential). We may consider candidates who are planning or in the
process of obtaining a full manual licence.
