COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING OFFICER - MUNSTER

Pieta?s vision is a world where suicide, self-harm, and stigma have
been replaced by hope, self-care, and acceptance. Pieta provides a
range of counselling services for people who are suicidal, engage in
self-harm, or are bereaved by suicide. Pieta also operates a national

LOCATION: Munster region - Hybrid (Based in a Pieta centre office 3
days per week)
POSITION TYPE: Permanent full-time contract

THE ROLE:

The purpose of the post is to support the development of robust
community engagement to achieve annual regional income targets for
Pieta to meet the demand for our vital services across Ireland. This
will be achieved by undertaking a range of duties and responsibilities
related to Pieta?s strategic fundraising goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

TEAM ENGAGEMENT

* Provide support to the National Community Fundraising Manager, and
Team Leader, in coordinating activities in line with the National
Fundraising Plan, such as annual campaigns, activities, public
fundraising campaigns, and events in your area
* Engage and support the regional, nationwide, and overall
fundraising team and community volunteers to meet fundraising targets
and promote Pieta effectively as one team with one vision
* Provide general administrative support to the Community
Fundraising Manager as appropriate with reporting and other planning
administration

PROGRAMME DELIVERY AND IMPLEMENTATION

* Promote and develop key community initiatives and fundraisers
including digital and virtual event fundraisers and challenges, and
national funding drives
* Proactively secure community fundraising in the area through
second and third level educational institutions, community groups, and
local business
* Development of pitches and talks to secure fundraising
opportunities with local events, race days, fleadhs, GAA initiatives
and other fundraising opportunities
* Generating town takeovers and other fundraising during key events
* Championing Pieta in the local area
* Dealing with community queries
* Providing community members, local small businesses, and third
party groups with the tools and supports they require to generate
engagement and funds for Pieta
* Roll out of key ?products?, events and initiatives in the
local area e.g. Run4Pieta, and virtual challenges, and support the
Darkness into Light project team by rallying the local community at
key times

COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER FUNDRAISING DEVELOPMENT

* Manage third party fundraisers in the geographic area
* Contribute to the development and delivery of efficient systems
and practices in your area to improve supporter care, return on
investment for Pieta, and best fundraising practice
* Provide support and advice on best practice fundraising to
parents/service users/other parties who are fundraising for the
organisation; ensure all fundraisers comply with Pieta?s fundraising
guidelines and ensure issues are discussed and resolved locally where
appropriate
* Developing new supporter committees and panels to provide
assistance for local and community fundraising
* Development of business cases for key initiatives and plans to
ensure costs and minimised and events or initiatives are maximised
* Contribute to the development of detailed ?Case for Support?
communications and proposals for projects that require funding in your
local region with your regional manager, the corporate manager, or
members of the executive team
* In keeping with Pieta and Gov/HSE guidelines attend local meetings
and client presentations for various campaigns, for example, schools,
regional advisory panel or committee meetings to offer support to the
volunteers

ADMINISTRATION

* Manage cash handling & banking; recording and receipting in-coming
cash to the department in line with Pieta Cash & Post Handling
Procedure
* Input data into the Salesforce Customer Relationship Management
(CRM) system on a daily or weekly basis, to ensure donor and volunteer
committee information and results can be monitored regularly

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* A minimum of 3 years experience in a fundraising role and a strong
understanding of the Irish fundraising landscape
* Be prepared to advocate the work of Pieta generally in the
community in support of fundraising opportunities
* Proven experience of growing income in the sector through
excellent relationship management
* Proven strategic writing skills with the ability to articulate and
inspire the long-term vision and values of Pieta
* Expertise in every stage of prospect pipeline management from
identification to solicitation and stewardship
* Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
* Excellent planning, organisational, and project management skills
with the ability to prioritize a heavy workload and meet deadlines
* Experience using a CRM system, for example, Salesforce experience
is beneficial
* Proven professional communication skills with excellent attention
to detail
* Initiative and focus to carry out the research function of this
role
* Experience working with databases and supporter journeys
* Ability and willingness to travel nationally, when required
* Tasks included in working responsibility may fall outside of the
main scope of this job description
