RESEARCH & EVALUATION MANAGER

Pieta?s vision is a world where suicide, self-harm and stigma have
been replaced by hope, self-care and acceptance. Pieta provide a range
of counselling services for people who are suicidal, engage in
self-harm or who are bereaved by suicide. Pieta House also operate a

THE ROLE:

The Research and Evaluation Manager will work independently and as a
member of a team to support the development of a research framework,
and programme of research for the organisation.

They will be required to design, commission and execute research and
evaluation projects as required and will ensure projects support
data-informed strategic planning and decision making.

The successful candidate must be committed to delivering high-impact
and actionable research and evaluation that informs, guides, and
influences practice and policy with innovation, enthusiasm,
flexibility, thoughtfulness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Develop a framework to support the development and delivery of
research and evaluation programmes
* Liaise and build relationships with third level institutions
* Develop research governance policies and procedures
* To lead and conduct research opportunities in conjunction with
Pieta staff and to provide support and supervision in the undertaking
of research projects i.e. publications, submission of oral and poster
presentations to conferences
* Design all research inputs for a portfolio of projects,
determining appropriate strategy, methodologies, and analysis
protocols
* Knowledge of funding opportunities and a track record in securing
grants and funding
* Manage project research budgets
* To analyse and synthesise research results and to identify lessons
learned and best practice for learning
* To contribute to development of new concepts, projects and
outputs, particularly during proposal writing, project extensions and
renewals
* Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to
plan, implement, report, and activate recommendations from research
and evaluation projects
* Develop briefs, presentations, and reports that describe and
interpret findings and provide actionable insights
* Respond to ad-hoc research- and evaluation-related queries
* Develop and completes annual professional development plan, in
consultation with Management
* Attend and participate in required educational programs and staff
meetings
* Carry out other related tasks, requests, and duties as assigned

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

* 3 years' research experience in health/ mental health and /or
counselling and psychotherapy
* Minimum of Master's degree required
* Management and project management experience
* Proven research and evaluation experience and expert knowledge of
quantitative and qualitative research methods
* Demonstrated ability to analyse quantitative and qualitative data,
interpret findings, discern implications, draw conclusions, and make
recommendations
* Demonstrated proficiency in statistical analysis software,
including ability to write complex syntax, and Microsoft Office suite
required
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
* Strong communication skills with the ability to develop
relationships internally and with external stakeholders (3rd level
institutions, government bodies etc.)
* Developing efficient work plans for complex projects involving
many groups, and effectively implements and coordinates these plans
