Muscular Dystrophy Ireland (MDI) is a voluntary organisation that
provides support to people with neuromuscular conditions and their
families. Muscular Dystrophy Ireland envisages an Ireland that enables
people with neuromuscular conditions to fully participate in society
and reach their full potential.

Our mission is to support people with muscular dystrophy. We do this,
using a member-centred approach, by:

* Providing information and support to people with neuromuscular
conditions and their families through a range of support services.
* Advocating for services and entitlements for members, and
educating and informing society about the conditions.
* Supporting researchers and clinicians to carry out quality
research into neuromuscular conditions.

ABOUT MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY

Muscular dystrophy is a collective name for a range of neuromuscular
conditions. It is characterised as a progressive weakening, wasting
and loss of _muscle_ mass over time. It can present at birth,
childhood or manifest later in life.

REPORTS TO:?MDI CEO.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Fundraising Lead will take the lead in developing MDI?s
fundraising strategy, to include our marketable position,
partnerships, philanthropy, grants and donor giving.

The aim of the role is to position MDI so that it can secure a regular
and diverse funding pipeline, to foster relationships and build a
movement of people and organisations that support its mission.

The primary objective of this role is to help deliver ambitious
fundraising targets through national presence and local development.

THE PERSON

Muscular Dystrophy Ireland is now seeking an assertive, highly
motivated and resourceful executive to support our Fundraising
programme.

If you are a creative, highly-motivated professional with exceptional
communication and interpersonal skills, proven experience working in
fundraising, a passion for setting your own goals and a desire to lead
a department, this could be the role for you.

You will share a commitment to the vision, mission, values and
strategic priorities of MDI.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Support the development and implementation of MDI?s fundraising
strategy.
* Ensure that all fundraising complies with the Charities Act and
all relevant data protection, as well always adhering to fundraising
best practices.
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of all MDI?s current and
past projects and future strategic goals.
* Foster current and create future partnerships to identify how to
leverage relationships for maximum mutual benefit.
* Track philanthropic and grant funding opportunities and complete
comprehensive and impelling applications, identifying opportunities
for impact.
* Identify opportunities and proactively contribute to idea
generation for the development of fundraising opportunities.
* Investigate and pursue opportunities to secure EU funding.
* Position MDI and support the creation of content for website,
social media.
* Create marketable corporate offerings, identify organisations
whose values reflect our own, and match partners to specific projects.
* Develop high quality materials including bespoke corporate funding
proposals.
* Build relationships with decision makers and MDI management.
* Set clear financial targets and drive activity to ensure they are
met.
* Work with CEO and Board on developing the philanthropic strategy.
* Develop and host philanthropic events.
* Develop and manage major donor database and arrange appointments
for CEO.
* Hold fundraiser information/recognition events and develop
fundraising pack.
* Foster fundraiser relationships.
* Foster fundraising partnerships with the corporate sector.
* Provide support to people organising community fundraising events.
* Provide support to people taking part in MDI?s fundraising
events.
* Answer, log and return calls, emails and web enquiries regarding
fundraising initiatives and events in a professional, friendly and
caring manner.
* Ensure all supporter data is entered into the CRM system in a
timely manner, entered correctly and completely, and is GDPR
compliant.
* Proactively monitor fundraising progress and support regional
fundraising.
* Support the production of marketing materials for community
fundraisers such as poster, flyers, social ads, and videos when
required.
* Liaise with supporters to generate post-event testimonials, images
and videos that can be used for marketing purposes.
* Liaise with supporters regarding fundraising materials
requirements and ensure distribution and delivery of same.
* Monitor and replenish the stock of community fundraising materials
and equipment as required.
* Liaise with suppliers and manage payment process and system.
* Create reports and marketing lists and support post campaign
analysis and evaluation as requested.
* Ensure all relevant areas of the website are kept up to date.
* Engage in regular one to one sessions with your CEO and
participate in relevant training and development courses as agreed.
* Work as an integral part of the MDI management team to maximise
income and long-term supporter relationships in line with our growth
strategy.

SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

_Please note all criteria are essential unless otherwise stated._

* Qualification and/or learned skills in fundraising / marketing /
communications / multimedia.
* Experience of working in fundraising or relevant discipline(s),
ideally with one year?s fundraising experience
* Experience of working with people with disabilities is desirable.
* Good working knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), Google Ads and fundraising platforms.
* A proven ability to communicate well with a broad range of people
and to engage and motivate supporters, members and volunteers.
* Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills and the ability
to complete projects within time constraints, work under pressure and
multi-task in a busy team environment.
* Advanced level IT skills, ideally with fundraising-database
knowledge.
* Willing and able to work outside of normal hours to support
fundraising activities as necessary.

TEAM WORKING SKILLS

* Ability to work on own initiative and liaise with senior managers.

PLANNING AND ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS

* Ability to organise and manage time effectively and to prioritise
workload in order to meet deadlines.
* Flexibility and adaptability in order to meet the demands of the
role and to work within varying locations and different settings.
* Self-motivation and an ability to work independently and on own
initiative.
* Knowledge of a variety of data collection tools and the ability to
collect quality data in a systematic way. IT literate and competent in
the use of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and
databases, or equivalent.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a structured way
and with a range of individuals, both verbally and in writing.
* Experience of the preparation and delivery of presentations to
varied audiences in a manner which meets their needs.
