THE CAN YOUTH DIVERSION PROJECT YOUTH JUSTICE WORKER POSTS X 2

In Sync Youth & Family Services is a dynamic voluntary organisation
dedicated to working with young people in their local communities. In
Sync is a member of Youth Work Ireland. In Sync is committed to the
personal and social development of young people within their
communities and the provision of quality youth services through an
integrated multi-disciplinary approach.

The CAN Youth Diversion Project is one of a range of special youth
projects aimed at diverting young people from crime, funded by the
Department of Justice and Equality, through An Garda S?och?na and
local grant aid.

APPLICANTS MUST DEMONSTRATE IN THEIR APPLICATION FORM THAT THEY HAVE
EXPERIENCE OF:

* Engaging and working directly with young people in a paid capacity,
ideally within a youth justice context.
* Developing and implementing individual and group-based targeted
intervention programmes for young people and their families, using
evidence based models of practice.
* Developing youth groups and services for young people, through
recruitment of young people, programme development, training,
face-to-face youth work and other methods.
* Establishing, developing and maintaining effective working
relationships with key agencies in the catchment area to enhance the
targeted response to young people.
* Using the YLS assessment tool to develop and implement case
management plans for young people.
* Implementing agreed annual plan, reporting on the work to the
relevant stakeholders, and evaluating your work.

APPLICATIONS SHOULD

* Have a minimum of two years? experience of Youth or Community
work in a professional capacity.
* Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Have a clear understanding of Youth Work and/or Youth Justice
Practice and ethos.
* Have competency in training, group work and organisational skills.
* Have a professional qualification in Youth/Community work, Youth
Justice work and/or a directly related field.
* Be willing to work unsocial hours and a time off in lieu system.
* Have full clean driving license and own transport.

The successful candidate will be employed by In Sync for an initial
