VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR (MATERNITY COVER)

JOB TITLE: Volunteer Co-ordinator (Maternity Cover)

occasional evening work required).

LOCATION: Dublin?s South West Inner City (The Liberties) with option
of some remote working.

SALARY: Scale starting at ?**Apply on the website**,**Apply on the
website** pro rata (dependant on qualifications and experience).

The focus of this role is the recruitment, support and management of
volunteers within each of Solas Project?s programme in line with the
project?s vision.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

* Evidence of strong organisational and communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range
of stakeholders.
* Proven experience of working successfully as part of a team.
* Administrative and Report writing skills including confident use
of Microsoft office
* Minimum of one years? relevant working experience.
* Passionate about the work of Solas Project and committed to its
vision and values.

DESIRABLE

* Experience of working with volunteers in a professional capacity.
* Experience of delivering training and group facilitation skills.
* A relevant recognised degree level qualification.
* Knowledge of European volunteering, in particular European
Solidary Corp.
* Experience of planning, implementing and reviewing programmes
involving volunteers
* Experience of collaboration and interagency working and working
with volunteers.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS

* Devising role profiles for volunteers and advertising opportunities
as required.
* In response to programme requirements, driving volunteer
recruitment campaigns, involving the full recruitment process as
outlined in the volunteer policy.
* Responding to all interest from external contacts and potential
volunteers.
* Overseeing the garda vetting procedure of volunteers as part of
the recruitment process with support of Garda Vetting officer.
* Providing induction training for volunteers and students on a
regular basis.

OVERSEEING VOLUNTEERING ACROSS THE ORGANISATION

* Liaising on a regular basis with staff to keep up to date on
volunteer involvement and progress.
* Keeping a live database of volunteers up to date and in line with
GDPR requirements
* Organising Child Protection Training and other relevant training
for volunteers, staff and students on a regular basis.
* Innovation and execution of new ideas for ongoing reward and
celebration of volunteers and expanded volunteer involvement
throughout the organisation
* Representing Solas Project at volunteer events and / or volunteer
fairs as required.
* Overseeing Investing in Volunteers Quality Standard process for
organisation.

ONGOING SUPPORT OF VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNICATIONS

* Overseeing volunteer rosters, availability, times and schedules.
Working closely with colleagues and programme leaders to coordinate
these.
* Supporting all staff managing volunteers - communicating regularly
with staff and volunteers through face-to-face meetings, phone calls
and emails.
* Ensuring volunteers are valued and recognised for their efforts.
* Carrying out exit interviews with volunteers and students who are
leaving in order to gain useful feedback and noting the learnings
* Ongoing surveys for volunteers to receive feedback and sharing
this with the relevant staff running the programmes.
* Keeping MailChimp up to date with volunteer contacts and anyone
who has signed up to the newsletter on their application form.
* Keeping website up to date with volunteer ads and opportunities.

ENGAGEMENT AND SUPPORT OF INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS AND STUDENTS

* Building partnerships with sending organisations and colleges for
placement of students within Solas Project
* Oversee the recruitment process for students including application
forms, interviews, vetting, any documentation required, assisting with
general queries such as accommodation queries, induction and
orientation.
* Preparing role descriptions, placing students in appropriate roles
within the organisation setting them up with staff supervisors and
overseeing this relationship
* Ongoing check ins with staff supervising and students directly

EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY CORPS

* Managing the ESC process for volunteers coming through the European
Solidarity Corps scheme from start to finish including: devising a
project plan and applying for funding yearly, completing a final
report on completion of the project including evaluation, impact and
dissemination. Liaising with Leargas, and networking with other ESC
organisations in Ireland and abroad, forming and building
partnerships.
* Support ESC external mentors and /or recruit for new mentors
* Regular check ins with ESC volunteers and overseeing supervision
of ESC volunteers by staff.

GENERAL SOLAS PROJECT RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Be familiar with and abide by the project?s policies and
procedures, including child protection and health and safety
guidelines.
* Assist with the running of any of the other project?s events or
activities as required.
* Engage in training and development opportunities and actively
engage with supervision process.
* Contribute to the wider strategic development of the project by
playing an active role.
* Ensure that the values and ethos of the project are reflected in a
consistent manner in all activities.
