JOB TITLE: YOUTH WORK CO-ORDINATOR

REPORTING TO: CEO AND NATIONAL YOUTH WORK CO-ORDINATOR

LOCATION: LETTERKENNY

HOURS: **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE** HOURS PER WEEK-6 MONTHS FIXED TERM
CONTRACT

PURPOSE: COORDINATE AND DELIVER A HIGH QUALITY, PROFESSIONAL YOUTH
SERVICE FOR YOUNG TRAVELLERS WITH FOCUSED PROGRAMMES AND ACTIVITIES IN
CONSULTATION WITH THE CEO AND NATIONAL YOUTH WORK CO-ORDINATOR; MANAGE
PROJECT FUNDS, YOUTH WORKERS AND VOLUNTEERS FOR YOUR PROJECT.

MAIN DUTIES

* Participate in relevant local committees and events to ensure
participation of members of the Traveller community
* Assist mainstream youth work organisations to engage youth from
the Traveller community
* Work directly and collaboratively with all local youth work
organisations and providers of youth programmes
* Recruit and train volunteers to support the activities of your
Project
* Assist in the recruitment of new youth workers for the project
* Manage all aspects of the project on a local level
* Be familiar with UBU and BOBF.
* Complete weekly, monthly and quartly reporting online as required.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

* Plan training and development activities for your youth work team
and maintain appropriate records
* Monitor and report on training and facilitation costs, performance
etc as requested
* Identify, select and manage external trainers/facilitators engaged
by the youth project
* Keep up to date with current legislation relating to Youth
Projects and inform head office of any changes.

FINANCE & BUDGETS

* Examine overall funds and allocate expenditure with approval of CEO
& National Co-ordinator
* Plan spending budget annually
* Apply for funding as required locally and Nationally
* Maintain financial records as requested
* Manage and control project expenditure within agreed budgets

DEVELOPMENT ROLE

* Research programmes/Activities/Projects that will enhance the
quality of your Youth Project
* Co-ordinate service/support mix
* Support local communities/committees/projects where necessary
* Attend and present at external meetings to improve the image of
your Youth project and the quality of relationships with existing
services in the area
* Record, analyse, report and administer according to established
systems within the organisation

ADMINISTRATIVE ROLE

* Type various documents/reports, including Project Reporting Form
and Project plans.
* Create statistical reports for the National office from time to
time as requested

SUPPORT AND SUPERVISION

* Provide Support for Youth Workers and Youth work assistants.
* Additional support will be provided throughout the implementation
of quality standards at local level
* Report any and all concerns to the CEO & National Co-ordinator
* Maintain youth work schedules to reduce lack of impact on delivery
of programmes.
* Sign off on all time sheets, leave request etc. from your Youth
project.

TEAM

* Carry out additional duties as assigned by the CEO and National
Co-ordinator, as appropriate to the post
* Ensure communications keep the team informed
* Support Administration at the National Office as required
* Attend Staff meetings, team activities and training as required
* Contribute to the team effort through participation and initiative
* Adhere to stated policies and procedures relating to Health &
Safety and quality management.

These are the key duties and responsibilities for the post and they
are subject to regular review. Any significant changes to the role
will be subject to consultation.
