For?ige is the National Youth Development Organisation, which
promotes and fosters youth development through the operation of
various youth services in urban and rural areas throughout the
country. For?ige is currently recruiting for the following position:
YOUTH JUSTICE WORKER
PROJECT SUMMARY
North Fingal Youth Diversion Project has a catchment area of
Balbriggan, Rush, Lusk, Skerries and its environs, the Naul,
Garristown. The project is staffed by 4 Youth Justice Workers and a
Family Support Worker. Youth Diversion Projects seek to divert young
people from entering or remaining within the justice system. GYDPs
work with young people and their families in their communities, taking
a strengths-based approach to support positive change, enable them to
reach their full potential and improve their long-term outcomes.
There are currently two full time youth justice worker vacancies to be
based in Rush/Skerries and Balbriggan.This is a very exciting
opportunity for candidates with an interest and capability in this
type of work
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL
REQUIREMENTS;
* Education to Degree standard preferably in Youth / Justice / Health
Promotion work (E) (note; candidates with exceptional, relevant work
experience may also be considered in lieu of degree qualifications)
* Access to car and full Irish driving licence (E)
* Exposure and understanding of YDP work and of working with young
people from minority ethnic
