THE BRIDGE YDP - FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER (F/T)

IN SYNC Youth & Family Services is a dynamic voluntary organisation
dedicated to working with children, young people and their families in
their local communities. We are committed to the provision of quality
youth & family services through an integrated multi-disciplinary
approach to identify and meet the emerging needs of children, young
people, their families and communities in Kildare and West Wicklow.

The BRIDGE YOUTH DIVERSION PROJECT is one of a range of special youth
projects aimed at diverting young people from crime, funded by the
Department of Justice and Equality, through An Garda S?och?na and
local grant aid.

The Family Support Worker will work as part of the project team to
develop and implement services and interventions for the families of
young people engaged in the project based on their identified needs.
This post is primarily based in Leixlip, but operating across the
designated catchment Leixlip Garda District including: Leixlip,
Maynooth; Celbridge; Kilcock; Carbury and, surrounding areas.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

* A recognised relevant third level qualification in Family Support,
Youth Work, Social Studies, Social Care or equivalent is desirable
* A minimum of at least 2 years? experience working with
individuals/ families in a family support, social care or youth work
context.
* An understanding/knowledge of Youth Diversion Projects and how
they operate.
* Experience in facilitating group work programmes.
* A full driver?s license and access to own car is essential.
* experience of developing positive working relationships with young
people, their families and communities.
* experience of working on an inter-agency basis with a range of
partners.
* excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong
recording, writing, reporting and evaluation skills & experience.
* a willingness to work unsocial hours and a time off in lieu
system.
* a full clean driving license and own transport.
