WE ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING A HIGHLY-MOTIVATED ACCOUNTANT TO JOIN OUR
TEAM IN NORTH EAST, KILDARE AND DUBLIN SOUTH WEST SERVICES

CONTRACT TYPE : This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

CONTRACT HOURS : **APPLY ON THE WEBSITE** HOURS PER WEEK (0.6 WTE)

OVERVIEW OF THE POST:

To manage and co-ordinate the accounts and financial processes within
Enable Ireland CHO 1, 7 and 8 areas where services are provided in
Cavan, Meath, Kildare and Dublin South West. The post holder will be
responsible for compiling, monitoring, reporting, planning,
developing, managing and reviewing the accounts and finance service in
line with the identified needs and best practice.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

* MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE

* Ensure best practice in relation to financial processes and
standards, and to maintain the culture of continuous quality
improvement within the accounts/finance function.
* Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts for submission to the
Director of Services in line with national timeframes.
* Full monthly reconciliation of all Trial Balance accounts and
maintenance of the general ledger.
* Detailed analysis of monthly payroll information, by Department,
against budget.
* Full analysis of monthly results by cost centre to include
analysis of regional accounts information input to the Exchequer
accounts system.
* Work closely with local service managers in relation to the
monitoring of monthly department spend.
* Liaise with auditors during interim and final audit.
* Prepare all Audit schedules required by the Head Office Finance
Dept and/or the Auditors.
* Prepare funding applications.

* BUDGETS AND FORECASTS

* Work closely with the Director of Services in preparation of the
Annual Budget for each Department.
* Detailed monthly monitoring of actual spend against budget, as
required by the Director of Services.
* Preparation of Regular Pay Forecasts.
* Upload budgets on the Exchequer accounts system.

* ACCOUNTING FUNCTION

* Supervision of all aspects of Accounts Payable and Accounts
Receivable.
* Keep a tight control of coding of all income and costs to ensure
Department reports are accurate.
* Closely monitor cash flow for the regions, ensuring collection of
amounts due.
* Supervision of Bank Reconciliations for a number of bank accounts.
* Work with other departments, such as IT and administration, to
improve the processes through integration and automation.
* Prepare periodic financial returns in accordance with
grant/funding requirements.

* BUILDING AND MAINTAINING WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

* Ensure that information is appropriately disseminated and
understood.
* Ensure that monthly financial performance information is
appropriately communicated to non-financial staff.
* Maintain strong working relationship with the Head Office Finance
Department.
* Ensure prompt response and resolution of queries from the Director
of Services and senior management.

* TEAMWORK

* Responsibility for the overall support, supervision and management
of the accounts team.
* To mentor staff to ensure the maintenance of service standards.
* To participate in/facilitate training to ensure the accounts team
are trained in line with legal, and professional standards.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

_ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:_

* A recognised accountancy qualification, e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
* Minimum of 4 years? previous experience in similar/relevant

* Experience managing people

_DESIRABLE CRITERIA:_

* Management related qualification.
* Experience working in the health care sector, or not for profit
sector
