POSITION: Part-Time Science/STEAM Teacher

LOCATION: Position will be based in Learning Hub Limerick, Kileely
House, Thomodgate, Limerick. LHL staff actively collaborate with
various schools and youth service centres in the local community.

date will be confirmed once the selection process is complete.
Contract is subject to renewal based on performance and available
funding.

BRIEF OVERVIEW:

Learning Hub Limerick (LHL) wishes to recruit for a position of
part-time Science/STEAM teacher. LHL is an educational charity which
aims to increase the number of children and young people staying in
primary and post-primary school and the primary focus is to work with
those who may be at risk of educational disadvantage through early
school leaving.

LHL works in partnership with parents, education providers, statutory
agencies and the wider Limerick community to provide a safe, welcoming
and inspiring learning environment where young people can reach their
true potential by engaging in various activities and using our
facilities during and after the school day ends.

LHL services are mainly supported group activities aimed at improving
students? social competencies, grasp of basic academic concepts as
well as their motivation and engagement for school, learning
dispositions and overall educational achievement.

REQUIREMENTS:

* A recognised third level qualification (minimum Level 8 on the NFQ)
in a relevant discipline ? any of the Science (Chemistry, Biology,
Physics or suitable subdisciplines), or STEAM (Art component highly
desirable) Education.
* Familiarity with cross-disciplinary and project-based learning
approaches as part of informal education settings.
* Experience in working with young children from various
socioeconomic backgrounds in either primary or post-primary education
settings.

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

* Experience in planning, designing and delivering PBL curriculum
units, reviewing and amending these as needed.
* Group facilitation experience, knowledge of solution focused
interactions, ability to motivate and swift conflict resolution
methods.
* Understanding of Children First guidelines.
* Highly adaptable, reflective and empathetic individual with broad
spectrum of interests in education and beyond.
