Seeking Safety Project: Peer Workers
PEER WORKERS FOR SEEKING SAFETY PROJECT are new positions, arising
from the support of the Department of Health through its Women?s
Health Fund. The Seeking Safety Project will develop and implement a
cross sectoral, interagency Irish adaptation of the Seeking Safety
model to support hard to reach women who experience both mental health
and substance use issues, paying particular attention to those
experiencing domestic and sexual gender based violence.

We are looking for experienced and motivated Peer to help deliver this
programme. In this case, ?we? refers to the seven different
agencies who are working together to roll out Seeking Safety around
Ireland. The agencies involved are: Ballyfermot STAR, Ballymun STAR,
Reddoor Project, Roscommon Women?s Network, Ruhama, SAOL Project and
Sophia Housing. Each agency will employ one Seeking Safety Peer Worker
for 7 hours per week. An interested individual can apply to work in
more than one agency.

The Seeking safety Peer Workers will help to roll out the programme
and assist with our evaluation process.

Training will be provided on both Seeking Safety and evaluation work
? so don?t worry if you know nothing about either. It is your
experience and skill as a peer worker that we are looking for.
