For?ige is the National Youth Development Organisation, which
promotes and fosters youth development through the operation of
various youth services in urban and rural areas throughout the
country. For?ige is currently recruiting for the following position:
YOUTH OFFICER
PROJECT SUMMARY
There are a large number of people arriving in Ireland from Ukraine.
For?ige wishes to ensure that there is an appropriate family support
response to meet the needs of Ukrainian young people and families
newly arrived in Ireland. This role will involve consulting with
families, preparing a clear response, supporting families to settle
into the local community, and meeting the youth work needs of young
people. This role will focus on Waterford city and County. This
Project is a partnership between For?ige, T?sla ? Child and Family
Agency, and the local community.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL
REQUIREMENTS;
* Education to Degree standard in a relevant area e.g. social care,
education, youth work, etc. (note: candidates with a Diploma and with
exceptional, relevant work experience may also be considered in lieu
of degree qualifications
* Full Irish driving license and access to a car
* Excellent standards of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to be proactive, use own initiative, and work effectively
within a pressurised environment
* Positive and flexible approach to working as part of a team (E)
* Excellent written communication, including strong report writing
skills. (E)
* Ability to implement and follow organisational guidelines and
processes (E)
* Good computer skills, including experience of MS Word, Excel &
Internet use
