For?ige is the National Youth Development Organisation, which
promotes and fosters youth development through the operation of
various youth services in urban and rural areas throughout the
country. For?ige is currently recruiting for the following position:
YOUTH OFFICER
PROJECT SUMMARY
The aim of the Drug Prevention and Education Initiative (DPEI) is to
assist young people to acquire appropriate knowledge and develop
attitudes and skills to enable them to make informed choices about
drug and alcohol use. It also aims to educate young people on the
risks associated with drug taking; accurately inform young people of
the legal issues involved and the repercussions of their drug taking;
educate young people on minimising the risks of harm from drug misuse;
promote and develop self-esteem and communication skills among young
people in the South Western Regional Drugs and Alcohol Task Force
(SWRDATF) region.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING ESSENTIAL
REQUIREMENTS;
* Education to Degree standard (Level 7), preferably in youth /
addiction / health promotion work or significant relevant experience
in the area
* Access to car and full driving licence
* Ability to support and signpost young people and families on
options available
* Ability to engage target group
* Skills in empowering others and facilitating development
