_CONTEXT: _

The PROTECT project, aims to address the following outcomes: 1.
Strengthen the role of cultural mediators to address the challenges
around effective access to services for migrant communities and other
minority groups. 2. Increase knowledge and awareness in the area of
counter-trafficking and Domestic Sexual and Gender-Based Violence
(DSGBV) amongst migrant communities and other minorities. This
includes research on counter trafficking; a targeted awareness raising
campaign; specialized training and exchanges for law enforcement
agencies on investigation techniques on counter trafficking and
private sector entities on trafficking indicators; (iv) capacity
building on cultural competency for frontline service providers;
development of an online training modules. 3. Strengthen the work of
An Garda S?och?na with migrant communities, particularly in the area
of DSGBV reporting through research, assessments and the development
of conflict resolution mechanisms; training materials and community
engagement mechanisms following the aims of recently published Third
National Strategy on Domestic Sexual and Gender-Based Violence.

Under the direct supervision of the National Programme Officer
(Protect Project Manager), as defined by the programme?s remit, the
Project Assistant will be responsible for all duties related to the
implementation of the programme in order to achieve its defined
outcomes and results.

_CORE FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: _

* Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
* Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on
specific project topics.
* Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary
approval and update budget related information.
* Support administrative coordination of project implementation,
involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external
parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and
follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
* Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery and
bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.
* Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics,
statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.
* Organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.
* Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and
maintain files/records.
* Perform other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

_EDUCATION_

* School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
* Bachelor?s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International
Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law
or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two
years of relevant professional experience.

_EXPERIENCE_

* Experience in liaising with governmental authorities,
national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and
non-governmental organizations;
* Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally
displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups;
and,
* Prior work experience with international humanitarian
organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization
in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

_SKILLS_

* Prior experience dealing with vulnerable groups and migrants
including direct assistance and support
* Experience with project implementation and/or development is
desirable.
* Experience with staff development and monitoring is desirable
* Experience with training and/or training facilitation is desirable
* Knowledge of cultural mediation
* Experience dealing with DSGBV, TiP prevention and response and/or
community policing is desirable
* Experience working within an international, multi-cultural work
environment is an advantage_._

LANGUAGES

* Fluency in English is required
* Any other IOM official language is an advantage
