JOB TITLE: SENIOR GRANTS OFFICER

LOCATION: Rathmines or other

REPORT TO: Corporate Partnership Manager

ROLE: Permanent, full time

THE ROLE

The Senior Grants Officer is a new and exciting role for the Irish
Heart Foundation and will be key in increasing our overall fundraising

Officer will work alongside the Corporate Partnership Manager to
significantly grow our grants, foundations, and trust income stream.

Due to our ambitious growth plan, we are seeking to employ an
experienced grants officer who has a proven track record in grants,
foundations, and trust fundraising. This includes researching,
writing, managing, and monitoring the grants funding process to
maximise success and grow income.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Develop and implement our new grants strategy with the support of
the corporate partnerships manager and senior management.
* Research grants, foundations, and trusts in Ireland and abroad
that would be interested in funding our work, which includes community
prevention programmes and heart and stroke patient support services.
* Manage all aspects of the application process, including writing
high-quality funding applications and gathering all required budgets
and documentation for submission.
* Create innovative and persuasive proposals, that stand out from
standard submissions.
* Responsible for funding applications across a wide range of
funders, including philanthropic trusts, corporate, pharmaceutical,
medical device, and diagnostic.
* Work closely with our senior management and programme and service
leads to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of the Irish
Heart Foundation?s work, so you will be able to effectively
communicate them.
* Build relationships with key stakeholders within the philanthropic
organisations.
* Develop funder stewardship to enable funders to see the difference
they are making with the aim to retain and grow their support.
* Work with finance to ensure accurate restrictions and financial
reporting and programme and service leads for evaluations and impact
reporting.
* Keep a record of applications, success rates, feedback, and
funding pipeline.
* Undertake administrative responsibilities related to grant funding
which includes income processing, receipting, and updating the donor
database.
* Keep up to date on sector knowledge and giving trends.
* Represent the Foundation at events as required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

* Minimum 3 years? experience working in grants within the charity
or non-profit sector
* Experience in grant writing
* Ability to write clearly and persuasively
* Great attention to detail and highly organized
* Knowledge of philanthropic organisations in Ireland and aboard
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to strict deadlines
* Positive attitude, proactive, and committed
* A dedicated member of the team, but also able to work on own
initiative
* Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite.
* An understanding of donor databases is desirable
