VOLUNTEER SUPPORT OFFICER GRADE IV; DEMENTIA CARE

_(1 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT)_

ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT MAKING A DIFFERENCE? We are seeking to
appoint a volunteer support officer to grow our volunteer programme.
The Volunteer Support Officer will assist the Volunteer and Community
Manager with recruiting, training, supporting and developing our
Volunteers in line with the Investing in Volunteers? standards. This
is an exciting opportunity to join a service of Saint John of God
Hospital CLG as we develop our award winning volunteer programme. The
successful candidate will have the opportunity to have a positive
impact in the lives of our volunteers and people living with dementia.

Saint Joseph?s Shankill, is a service of Saint John of God Hospital
CLG, and is the largest care home in Ireland solely dedicated to
dementia care. We are leading the way in dementia care in Ireland, by
providing the highest quality, person-centred supportive care to our
residents, where their home, happiness and feelings matter most. We
have transformed from a traditional style, medical modelled nursing
home to a culture of social care provided in our six homes, or
?lodges? as they are known. We are an accredited Meaningful Care
Matters ?Butterfly Home?. We are part of the Irish Hospice
Foundation?s CEOL Programme focusing on person- centred end of life
care. We have achieved Volunteer Ireland?s Investing in Volunteers
Excellence Award.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES SHOULD BE FLEXIBLE AND COMMITTED AND FULFIL
THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

* Experience of working with and supporting volunteers
* Relevant third level qualification
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to work under pressure, multi-task and problem-solving
* Proficient in use of Microsoft Office, social media and design
packages
* At least 2 years? experience of the non-for-profit sector in
Ireland (paid or voluntary)
* Previous experience of organising and running events
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work
independently and as part of a team
* Passion to make a difference in the lives of people living with
dementia.
