PART-TIME COUNSELLING CLINICAL DIRECTOR

THE ORGANISATION

The Traveller Counselling Service was set up in **Apply on the
website** to provide one-to-one counselling and therapeutic support to
members of the Traveller community. Overseen by a Board of Management,
the service is run by Travellers for Travellers and works from a
culturally inclusive framework which respects Traveller culture,
identity, values, and norms.

The service has now expanded to include Community Development Work and
Advocacy Work, and offers counselling in person, by phone and online,
nationwide.

We are currently recruiting for a PART TIME COUNSELLING CLINICAL
DIRECTOR. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Counselling Clinical
Director will be the mental health lead for the organisation,
providing strategic and clinical leadership for the counselling team.
The role is 0.2 WTE, or 1 day per week.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Ensure safe, effective, high-quality standards of counselling
service delivery in line with The Traveller Counselling Service?s
values and strategic plan;
* Oversight and development of clinical governance, structures and
processes;
* Ensure effective implementation of The Traveller Counselling
Service?s clinical policies, procedures and guidelines;
* Provide clinical leadership and supervision to a team of **Apply
on the website** counsellors;
* Oversee quality assurance of performance management and
development process for counsellors;
* Offer guidance to the Operations Manager in the development and
implementation of the continuing professional development programme
for counsellors;
* Drive service and clinical practice improvement and ensure service
accountability and transparency;
* Play a lead role in the oversight of risk management, incidents,
accidents and near misses;
* Communicate regularly on the functioning of the service with the
Managing Director and the Board of Management, as required;
* Undertake any other duties as determined by The Traveller
Counselling Service.

EXPERIENCE

* Recognised third level qualification in Supervision and full
accreditation by a national counselling body;
* Minimum of four years? experience as a counselling supervisor;
* Previous counselling experience with marginalised groups an
advantage;
* Previous work with Travellers desirable, but not essential.

SKILLS

* Excellent interpersonal and networking skills and the ability to
develop good working relationships;
* Ability to support, prompt reflection and challenge counsellors;
* High attention to detail and strong organisational skills;
* Proficient IT skills (Zoom, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel);
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written;
* Problem-solving skills;
* Ability to plan and prioritise own work.

This is a 1-year fixed term contract with continuation dependent on
funding, with a six -month probationary period. The role is based in
the Dublin area with several options for flexible/hybrid working. The
position is part-time, at one day per week or equivalent. The salary
