DRIVE (DRUG RELATED INTIMIDATION & VIOLENCE ENGAGEMENT) LEAD
(1 YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

We seek enthusiastic and suitably qualified individual to fill the
position of DRIVE (Drug Related Intimidation & Violence Engagement)
Lead. The primary role of the DRIVE Lead is o coordinate the
implementation of DRIVE (Drug Related Intimidation & Violence
Engagement) Model within the Dublin North Inner City Local Community
Safety Partnership.

ABOUT US

DRIVE (Drug Related Intimidation & Violence Engagement) is an
interagency project which outlines systems and structures to respond
to drug related intimidation and associated violence (DRIV) in
Ireland. It is overseen by the National DRIVE Oversight Committee
which has members from the National Garda Drugs & Organised Crime
Unit, the Regional and Local Drug & Alcohol Task Force Coordinators
Networks, HSE, National Voluntary Drug & Alcohol Sector and Probation
Service. Its key objective is to build the capacity of communities
around Ireland to respond to drug-related intimidation and violence
(DRIV).

DRIVE LEAD

The post holder will report to the Coordinator of the NIC Local
Community Safety Partnership for guidance in relation to their day to
day operational work with Cairde providing responsibility for annual
leave, contracts and other human resource related matters.

THE PRINCIPAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

* To be the focal point for Drug Related Intimidation and Violence in
their area for key stakeholders and also with the DRIVE Liaison
Network
* To collaborate and work in partnership with the nominated Garda
Inspector for Drug Related Intimidation in the area of Dublin north
inner city
* To attend and engage in the DRIVE liaison Network facilitated by
the DRIVE Coordinator as the link with their DRIVE Interagency Group
(DIG)
* To contribute to the development of DRIVE resources and supports
to support their relevant communities in relation to DRIV
* To engage in Train the Trainer facilitated by the DRIVE
Coordinator and cascade DRIVE training and resources to the Local
Community Safety Partnership and all other relevant stakeholders in
north inner city
* To support the development of a DRIVE Interagency Group (DIG)
within the local community safety partnership in consultation with the
LCSP Coordinator and national DRIVE Coordinator.
* To identify and engage partners in the DIG and induct into the
DRIVE process
* To convene and provide administrative support to DIG meetings to
include preparation of meeting papers and relevant reports
* To promote the DRIVE Model across the DATF area and present on the
work of DRIVE with key stakeholders including the dissemination of
data and trends
* In consultation with the DIG develop a staged workplan for their
relevant DATF area (in line with the DRIVE model)
* To support DRIVE data collection processes once developed and
provide relevant reports on request to the DATF and other stakeholders
* To coordinate local information sharing to develop area-based
understanding of DRI prevalence and trends that inform community level
supports and policing responses
* To contribute to regional structures such as the new community
safety forums to promote solution-based approaches to DRIV and
contribute to national information sharing events
* To support the development and delivery of community level
supports in their area under the themes of prevention, desistence and
suppression ? this involves maximising existing and securing new
resources.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Third level qualification in relevant field
* 3 years+ work experience in development and delivery of training
* 3 years+ work experience of interagency working
* Understanding of the impact of drugs and drug crime within
communities
* Excellent report writing skills
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Excellent IT skills
