HOUSING FIRST
Housing First is a recovery-oriented approach to ending homelessness
that centres on quickly moving people experiencing homelessness into
independent and permanent housing and then providing additional
supports and services as needed.
MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST
To work as a part of Sligo Social Services Multi-Disciplinary team to
deliver a ?Housing First? approach to individuals experiencing
long term homelessness in Counties Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
The position of the Mental Health Specialist will be based in
Letterkenny Co Donegal on three days per week and in Sligo town on two
days per week.
The successful candidate will be offered a fixed term contract of

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL HAVE:
* Masters of Social Work or equivalent
or
* Registered in the Psychiatric Division of the Register for Nurses
as maintained by an Bord Altranais
* Have at least 5 years post graduate experience.
* Access to car and full driving licence.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL PREFERABLY HAVE:
* Experience of working with service users who are or have been
homeless
* Experience of working with service users identified as having a
dual diagnosis
