Drogheda Northside School Completion Programme: Project Worker (Part Time)


The School Completion Programme (SCP) is a TUSLA funded programme that
aims to have a significant positive impact on levels of young
people?s attendance, participation, and retention in Primary and
Second level schools.

ABOUT THE SCHOOL COMPLETION PROGRAMME IN DROGHEDA NORTHSIDE:

This Programme works with Children and Young people in 4 Primary
schools on the Northside of Drogheda and those living in Mosney
Reception Centre. We work with students, their families and the
community to encourage students to reach their full potential, and
prevent early school leaving in the education system. We do this by
providing a range of targeted and universal supports in school,
afterschool and during holiday time.

THE POSITION:

We are recruiting for a part- time Project Worker to join our small
team. The position will initially be for **Apply on the website**
months fixed term and **Apply on the website** hours per week. The
Project Worker will work in the Drogheda based primary schools. The
position will be providing direct supports to students through
delivering whole class evidence based programmes, in small groups and
one to one.

THE PEOPLE:

Candidates should have a relevant qualification and experience in one
or more of the following fields: youth/Community work, Social care,
Social work, education, psychology, or related discipline. Candidates
must have a full clean drivers licence and use of a car for work
purposes. Candidate must be available for afterschool and to school
summer holiday supports.

MAIN DUTIES PART- TIME PROJECT WORKER:

* Work alongside the Co-ordinator and SCP team to implement and
further develop the School Completion Programme in the 4 Drogheda
Primary schools & Mosney Reception centre.
* Provide direct support to the targeted young people both in
school, afterschool and summer holiday supports
* Plan and deliver whole class and universal evidence based
Programme in classroom settings.
* Plan & deliver personal and social development programmes in a one
to one and small group setting in schools and afterschool clubs
* Provision of holiday time supports in the form of Summer
Programmes
* Produce quarterly reports on project activity
* Attend team meetings with the Co-ordinator
* Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
by management, in relation to the role

APPLICANTS FOR THE POSITION SHOULD POSSESS:

* A recognised qualification in youth/community work or social work/
social care or teaching
* A proven record of working with children and young people
* Experience in delivering programmes personal and social
development programmes & activities
* The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* Good IT skills
* An understanding of the educational system and issues pertaining
to early school leaving
* Ideally possess a full clean driving licence and have access to a
car during work hours

HOURS: This is a new position so some flexibility exists. The working
hours will be 9 to 4pm depend on the right candidate?s availability.
These hours will be split over 2 days and will include afterschool
clubs. Some additional hours may be available for the right candidate
also on a temporary basis to cover sick leave.
