DEVELOPMENT OFFICER / UKRAINE SUPPORT WORKER

Carlow Volunteer Centre is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and
motivated individual who understands that volunteering is critical to
building social connections and fostering integration.

The Development Officer will play a key role in providing a
person-centred service that will support Ukrainian and other migrant
communities to engage in rewarding and meaningful volunteering.

A self-starter and good communicator, this candidate must be able to
connect with people from many walks of life and inspire enthusiasm
about volunteering.

The ability to assist with the planning and delivery of volunteer
events will also be a key requirement.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Development Officer will be responsible for assisting with the
delivery of an inclusive, accessible, and quality-focused service.

The successful candidate will assist with engaging the Ukrainian
community and other migrant communities in volunteering activities in
Co. Carlow which will help promote integration, build social
connections, and foster a sense of belonging.

The Development Officer will also support local organisations to
engage volunteers from migrant communities by helping to develop
inclusive volunteering roles, promoting volunteering vacancies and
referring suitable volunteers.

Collaboration with other agencies in Co. Carlow and supporting other
delivery streams will be key to this role.

In line with our Quality Standards Framework, quality checks and a
focus on systems management are central; ensuring everyone gets a
consistent and quality-centred service.

The Development Officer will have the full support of the Centre
Manager and other members of the Volunteer Centre team throughout
their role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

* Meeting with individuals at Carlow Volunteer Centre and other
outreach clinics to support the Ukrainian community and other migrant
communities to engage in volunteering activities.
* Collaborating with various local services to develop and deliver
initiatives that will enable migrant communities to participate in
meaningful volunteering activities
* Liaising with local volunteer-involving organisations, helping to
develop inclusive volunteering roles and referring potential
volunteers
* Providing translation support for Carlow Volunteer Centre
* Providing ongoing assistance to Carlow Volunteer Centre?s
existing volunteering projects
* Keeping accurate records on CRM software
* Animating the Volunteer Centre services and activities - this will
include implementing our workplan activities, delivering outreach,
contributing to website and social media content, giving
presentations, and participating in various initiatives as required.
* Administration tasks relevant to the role.
* Any other duties as determined by the Centre Manager.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

* Fluency in both written and verbal ENGLISH AND UKRAINIAN / RUSSIAN
* A minimum of one years? experience in a similar position or in
community services / education / information provision in Ireland or
elsewhere
* Personal experience of volunteering
* Ability to advise, motivate and support individuals around
volunteering
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent IT competencies in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
suite.
* Experience of project management and coordinating events
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a small team
* Willingness to participate in continuous quality improvement and
accept feedback

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

* Marketing and social media experience and familiarity with
WordPress also desirable.

SALARY

?**Apply on the website** per hour for a 7-hour working week. The
role may require some evening / weekend hours.
