FUNDRAISING OFFICER

Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI) is the national charity for people with
Down syndrome and their families in Ireland, supporting over 3,**Apply

nationwide. We are working to achieve an optimal quality of life for
people with Down syndrome, as equally valued, independent citizens.

DSI is recruiting a Fundraising Officer to work in its busy
Fundraising Department, thereby helping to implement the Fundraising
Plan and meet annual income targets. The ideal candidate will have the
ability to work effectively as part of a small Fundraising Team as
well as taking ownership and proactively drive a number of key
projects and day-to-day fundraising activities themselves. Relevant
experience in a similar fundraising environment and excellent project
management skills, along with the ability to work under pressure and
prioritise a varied workload are essential attributes for this role.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Working across the following key fundraising areas: Campaign &
Event planning and implementation; Community & Supporter engagement
and management; Individual Donor and Legacy Campaign development etc.
* Providing the necessary lead and support to a number of key annual
campaigns and events to ensure optimum success.
* Managing day-to-day engagement and relationships with event
participants, community fundraisers and donors etc.
* Taking ownership of a number of existing and new projects, and
driving them to deliver on objectives and income targets
* Working closely and collaboratively with key internal teams
including Communications, Member Support, Finance and Compliance
* Ensuring that Down Syndrome Ireland continues to be in compliance
with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from
the Public, as issued by the Charities Regulator as well as the
Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising
* Any other duties as designated by the Head of Fundraising and
Retail

PERSON SPECIFICATION / REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

* Minimum 2 years? relevant experience in a fundraising environment
is preferential
* A proven capability in leading successful fundraising campaigns
and events
* Strong project management and relationship building skills
* Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to work enthusiastically and effectively as part of a
small team, and on own initiative
* Strong planning and budgeting skills with a focus on return on
investment
* Flexibility: Demonstrable experience of structuring workload and
conflicting demands of comfortably managing the multiple dimensions of
the role
* Friendly, energetic, creative and proactive approach, with a
strong work ethic
* Highly organised and excellent attention to detail in all aspects
of work
* Highly computer literate ? proficient in Microsoft Office and
CRM/Fundraising Databases
* Excellent working knowledge of Digital/Social Fundraising tools
and Social Media platforms
* Flexibility in working hours and duties ? the role involves
occasional out of hours work
* An understanding and empathy for the mission and work of Down
Syndrome Ireland
* Knowledge of and interest in Ireland?s charity sector

DETAILS:

* This is a permanent full-time role with a six month probation
period
* Competitive salary based on experience

* This position will be based in Down Syndrome Ireland?s National
Office, Unit 3 Park Way House, Western Parkway Business Park,

* At present DSI are working a hybrid model comprising 3 days in the
National Office and two days remotely
