REQUEST FOR TENDER FROM ALTERNATIVES TO VIOLENCE PROJECT (IRELAND) FOR
CO-ORDINATION AND MANAGEMENT SERVICES

INTRODUCTION

Alternatives to Violence Project (Ireland)is a charity providing
experiential workshops in conflict resolution and restorative
practices through a community of volunteers inside and outside
prisons. This is done primarily within the Irish Prison System,
alongside a small number of community activities.We are committed to
creating a society based on honesty and respect that can resolve
conflicts without resorting to violence. We are seeking a provider to
deliver co-ordination and management services to support us in
delivering our operations plan.

The mission of Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP)is to empower
people to live their lives without violence and is based on a strong
set of values. The central theme in AVP is Transforming Poweri.e.,the
power, available to all, to make choices to transform what might be a
violent or destructive situation into a non-violent outcome.

TENDER REQUEST:

We are seeking tenders from suitably experienced individuals to
deliver an efficient and effective co-ordination and management
service for AVP Ireland.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Timely and efficient delivery of the Service Level Agreement with
the Irish Prison Service.
* Restructuring of service delivery/teams to ensure a sustainable
and consistent service.
* Recruitment and training of volunteer facilitators with an initial
targeted recruitment for Limerick and Castlerea areas.
* Development and Implementation of Training for Trainers.
* Ongoing guidance and support of volunteers.
* Development of ongoing training for facilitators inside and
outside prisons.
* Development and management of AVP?s social media& Marketing.
* Fundraising support:researching appropriate funding streams to
ensure a sustainable future of the service.
* Overall organisational management (management of files, data,
basic financial support, appropriate communications,and reports,
supporting the board etc).
* Provide support to the BoM on request.

HOURS OF WORK:

* Given the size of the organisation it is expected that delivery
would typically equate to three days per week averaged across the year
but with variations at different times of the calendar year.
* Flexibility and a willingness to work to aflexible schedule,
including evening and weekend is a requirement.
* This is a remote based position with travel required from time to
time.

DESCRIPTION OF THE SKILLS NEEDED FOR THE ROLE

We require a motivated and talented individual who can create a vision
for the future and use innovation and creativity to build a strong
foundation to grow AVP for the future. A combination of the skills
listed below is desirable.

* Strong organisation and management skills.
* Leadership skills and a strategic mindset.
* Excellent facilitation and training skills.
* Excellent planning, monitoring and communications skills.
* An interest in conflict resolution and restorative justice.
* A pro-active and positive approach to work and building
relationships.
* Resilience and an ability to deal with workload and ambiguity.
* Strong IT experience and skills.
* Marketing and Fundraising Skills are also desirable.

DURATION OF THE CONTRACT

The duration of the contract will be one year starting at beginning of

* Tax clearance information.
* Statement of relevant professional indemnity and insurance
details, of which evidence will be required prior to the commencement
of the contract.
