MANAGER, EDEL HOUSE, EMERGENCY SHELTER FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN

Applications are sought for the position of Manager, Edel House
emergency shelter for women and children, a service of Good Shepherd
Cork (GSC).

Edel House, located in Cork City, provides emergency accommodation to
women and families who are experiencing homelessness.

Edel House has recently had a major re-development and now provides

and families in a quality, dignified environment.

The Manager will be responsible for ensuring a welcoming,
compassionate, and professional service to the women and children
staying in Edel House.

The candidate should be able to provide effective and strategic
leadership, planning and direction for Edel House and contribute to
the strategic development of Good Shepherd Cork, through active
engagement in the GSC senior management team.

Applications can be considered from candidates available on a
part-time basis.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

* A recognised professional qualification in Social Care or an
appropriate equivalent
* Senior experience in a management / leadership role
* A minimum of five years post qualification experience
* Professional and caring approach to working with vulnerable women,
children and families
* Experience/a strong understanding of work in a residential setting
is preferred.

The candidate should be compassionate and highly motivated. They will
be expected to demonstrate sound decision making skills and have
excellent interpersonal, networking, teambuilding and supportive
skills. They will need to ensure that the ethos, vision and mission of
Good Shepherd Cork are well understood and influence practise.

The role offers a competitive salary, professional external
supervision arrangements and on-going opportunities for professional
development.

week, mostly weekdays, although some flexibility will be required
around working hours and some out of hours on-call will be required.
