AACPI CONSULTANCY PROJECT: _CLINICAL STANDARDS IN COMMUNITY-BASED
COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY IN IRELAND ? A ROADMAP TO BEST PRACTICE_

PROJECT OVERVIEW

EXPECTED DURATION: 6 months.

The Association for Agency-based Counselling & Psychotherapy in
Ireland?(AACPI) represents a national network of services who provide
professional, affordable and accessible counselling & psychotherapy to
communities across Ireland.

Our member agencies?uphold core-principles that promote transparency,
professionalism, accountability, and continuous professional
development in counselling.

PURPOSE:

The purpose of this project is to advance AACPI?s work in the
development of clinical standards and increase the capacity of the
community-based counselling and psychotherapy sector in Ireland
through consultation and research with AACPI members and the wider
sector.

OBJECTIVES:

* Conduct a literature review of existing and emerging best practice
in clinical standards in community / agency-based counselling &
psychotherapy
* Review and update AACPI?s existing quality and standards
framework and develop the ?gold standard? for community /
agency-based counselling & psychotherapy.
* Conduct a mapping exercise of existing services and standards in
the community / agency-based counselling & psychotherapy sector in
Ireland.
* Produce a report and implementation plan, including full analysis,
findings and recommendations for the enhancement of clinical standards
in community / agency-based counselling in Ireland.
* The successful applicant will prepare a brief presentation of the
report for delivery to AACPI staff, Board and Tusla representatives in
advance of publication.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Must have demonstrable experience in the delivery of similar
projects
* Must have demonstrable knowledge and / or experience in the field
of therapy / counselling / psychotherapy / supervision
* Must have experience / interest in research and report writing
* Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
* Must have experience in the delivery of multi-stakeholder projects

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

* Candidates must have sufficient public liability and professional
indemnity insurance in place.
* Up-to-date Tax Clearance Certificate
* Garda Vetting
