JOB TITLE

Organisation Support and Development Officer

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Operations Manager

KEY RELATIONSHIPS

Working alongside existing Organisation Support Officer, and in
conjunction with Volunteer Engagement Officers. Supporting
not-for-profit organisations and volunteer managers in South Dublin.

OVERALL PURPOSE

This position focuses on providing support to organisations in the
South Dublin County area in order to maximise their volunteering
opportunities. The worker will also work with voluntary organisations
in South Dublin County to build their capacity to engage and involve
volunteers by providing them with individual support and advice on
best practice volunteer management templates.

A second facet of the position is to deliver outreach
services/promotions of the volunteer centre in various outreach
locations across the county.

KEY AREAS OF WORK

* Actively recruit organisations in the target area.
* Work with organisations in the target area to ensure that a wide
range of volunteering opportunities are registered with South Dublin
County Volunteer Centre
* Deliver individual support to organisations to assist them in
increasing their capacity to recruit and retain volunteers.
* Assist organisations in creating an inclusive environment ?
including giving information on diversity, disability, cultural
awareness training and improving physical access ? thus enabling
organisations to create a more diverse and welcoming environment.
* Regularly develop and circulate materials promoting best practices
to volunteer involving organisations.
* Keeping accurate and methodical records relating to volunteers and
volunteering opportunities
* Support the SDCVC training program and Volunteer Friendly program
by identifying the needs of organisations and opportunities to deliver
training.
* Deliver specialised corporate volunteering programs
* Support the Volunteer Engagement Officer(s) in assessing the needs
of individual volunteers and obtaining suitable volunteer placements.
* In conjunction with the manager, help prepare any necessary
reports, appraisals and budgetary projections for SDCVC funding
bodies.
* Such other duties which do not change the nature of the post, as
may be determined by the SDCVC Manager and/or board of trustees in
response to contractual developments and needs

involve volunteers in their work.
* Knowledge of and ability to explain and demonstrate the ways in
which organisations can demonstrate best practice in their involvement
and management of volunteers.
* Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
* Experience of managing projects, determining objectives, setting
priorities and successfully implementing solutions.
* Commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
* High level IT skills with an ability and an interest in working
across multiple online platforms.
* Ability to communicate effectively and in an engaging manner,
verbally and in writing.
* Ability to report on progress and agreed objectives.
* A methodical and organised approach.

HOURS OF WORK

**Apply on the website** hours per week with some hours at evenings
and weekends required. Time off in lieu of overtime (TOIL) will be
given for hours worked in excess of normal weekly hours.

SALARY

South Dublin Volunteer Centre operates a banded salary scale. This
role will operate at Level 5 (Specialist/ Professional Staff), with a

and ?**Apply on the website**,**Apply on the website** per annum.
Movement within the scale is dependent on performance as determined by
annual review.

CONTRACT

This role is subject to a **Apply on the website**-month contract.
Renewal of the contract will be subject to further funding.
