GHN STUDENT OUTREACH TEAM ? NATIONAL DEBATE COORDINATOR

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE

The Irish Global Health Network (IGHN) is an independent network of
people from different backgrounds, sectors and disciplines who are
concerned with health inequities and issues that impact on the health
and development of populations at a global level, with a particular
commitment to those living in middle- and low-income countries.

The IGHN Student Outreach Team (IGHN_SOT) was formed to give students
a stronger voice in the IGHN. It is composed of a group of current
students and recent graduates in all academic and professional fields.
This approach lends itself to creating a holistic view and design
innovative solutions for the **Apply on the website** sustainable

This group allows the students to contribute new and innovative ideas,
helps ensure that the IGHN is meeting student needs, and provides
members with exciting opportunities and connections in the field of
global health.

The IGHN_SOT in collaboration with CONCERN Worldwide is running its
first All-Ireland Global Health Debate at third level institutions
between February to June **Apply on the website**. The team is looking
for a dynamic & self-motivated person to join the team to support IGHN
in the planning and execution of the Debate. This is a four month paid
position, with the possibility of extension for a further two months.
The IGHN Student Outreach Team ? National Debate Coordinator will
work closely with the SOT Coordinators, wider IGHN team, and other
stakeholders to effectively plan and execute the All-Ireland Debate.
This is a flexible hybrid position but the successful applicant must
be based in Ireland. The role will involve some travel within the
Island of Ireland.

DELIVERABLES

* Work with and under the supervision of the SOT Coordinators to:

* Organise and execute the logistical requirements for a successful
debate.
* Ensure that all the required administrative tasks and logistics
associated with the national debate are carried out successfully.
* Support with the organisation of the national debate;
communication with venues and participants, communication, and
planning with the SOT and wider IGHN secretariat.
* Send out invitations and coordinate promotions.
* Liaise with relevant organisations and partners for the purpose of
organising, sponsoring, and partnering for the national debate.
* Post-event follow up; event summary report, post-event content for
social media and newsletter, post-event administration and/or
communication as required.
* Undertake such other relevant duties as assigned and required by
the SOT Coordinators and IGHN secretariat.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Excellent communications, presentation and writing skills.
* Strong organisation and time management skills.
* Must be able to work collaboratively with a range of students and
staff members in the wider organisation, as well as with external
stakeholders.
* Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and
attention to detail.
* Experience of researching, collating, and writing briefing
materials and proof-reading documents.
* Flexible and willing to undertake varied responsibilities.
* Ability to handle highly sensitive business communications, data
and other information with confidentiality and discretion.
* Experience in coordinating events of this nature is an essential
criterion.

PERIOD AND TERMS

This is a short-term consultancy for the specified purpose of
assisting with the upcoming IGHN SOT National Debate. The IGHN Student
Outreach Team ? National Debate Coordinator will work a total of 2
days per week in a 4-month period, from week starting Monday **Apply
on the website** February to week ending 2 July **Apply on the
website**. The rate of pay for the role is ?**Apply on the website**
per day, and will consist of four payments, payable on the last day of
each month.
