POSITION POLISH SPEAKING COUNSELLOR/PSYCHOTHERAPIST

DETAILS OF SERVICE

The post holder will possess the skill set necessary to respond to a
broad range of Polish migrant service users? mental health issues

REPORTING TO: U-Clinic Counselling Service Coordinator

PAY RATES: pro rata HSE Counsellor rates based on experience.

* Flexible working hours to ensure customer focussed service.
* Work to be carried out remotely mostly using system provided but
some travel to Cork office would be essential

PURPOSE OF THE POST

The purpose of the post is:

* To provide a community based, counselling in Polish language to the
Polish community in Ireland.
* To write articles and prepare webinars raising mental health
issues among the Polish community.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES CLINICAL PRACTICE

* Conduct initial assessments.
* Provide individual counselling in Polish language to clients.
* Keep appropriate client files.
* To practice in accordance with Together-Razem standards.
* Inform and facilitate clients in accessing other appropriate
health care and support services and referral to more specialist
services if required.
* Referral of clients to self-help groups and community initiatives.
* Notification of child abuse in accordance with Children First
Guidelines.
* To actively participate in regular external clinical supervision
* To engage in in-service and other relevant training opportunities
and to keep up to date with new developments in counselling/therapy
and addiction treatment.
* To monitor and evaluate effectiveness and outcomes of treatment
for individuals/groups, matching therapy to needs.
* Participation in the development of new initiatives: e.g.
Community based programmes, training programmes etc.
* To provide training in skills and theory appropriate to best
counselling practice as required.

ADMINISTRATION AND ACCOUNTABILITY

* To maintain contemporaneous records and submit statistics and
activity data in a timely manner.
* To write clear concise reports in Polish and English
* Maintain records and submit activity data on a report form
provided.
* To use and maintain online Appointment system available.
* Take corporate responsibility as well as ethical counselling
responsibility.
* To co-operate with the operation of new technology and Doxy online
system ? training to be provided.
* To report to the U-Clinic Coordinator on matters affecting the
administration of the service.
* To attend in service training as required.
* Flexibility in practice as required i.e. out of hours, provision
of new programmes and service initiatives.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

EACH CANDIDATE MUST, POSSESS:

* A recognised qualification at minimum level 8 QQI in Counselling or
Psychotherapy; or level 9 QQI in Counselling or Clinical Psychology
(Level 7 qualifications will be considered if they have completed a
minimum 2 years client work post qualification)
* Accredited or pre-accredited with a recognised, established
accreditation body?(e.g.PSI, APCP, IACP, NAPCP, IAHIP, ICP)

OTHER REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIC TO THE POST

* FLUENT POLISH LANGUAGE KNOWLEDGE IS ESSENTIAL TO THIS ROLE.
* Good command of English language
* Good IT skills
* Flexible working hours ? availability to work unsociable hours
as required to provide greater access to services.
* Availability to provide at least 4 counselling sessions weekly.
* Capacity to work on own initiative.
* Ability to provide counselling/therapy services that are evidenced
based and solution focused.
* Capacity to develop positive relationships with internal and
external agencies.
* Experience of developing and delivering workshops, webinars
* Experience and skills in the referral process and assessment of
clients.
