Your new company are a well-established residential service
organisation with a base in Limerick City. Due to this organisation
expanding their residential services, there is now an excellent
opportunity for an experienced support worker to join their team and
support adults with intellectual disabilities on a permanent basis.
Your new company are focused to change the face of support for people
with intellectual disabilities, physical and sensory disabilities
and/or autism in Ireland. They offer progressive one-to-one solutions
geared towards empowerment of the people they support, enhancing the
experience of life. You will receive state of the art training, a
competitive hourly rate / salary, and a permanent contract.
YOUR NEW ROLE
In your new role you will be a full-time permanent support worker at
this client’s residential centre in Limerick City. You will report
directly to the service manager as a support worker. Your day-to-day
duties will include providing a professional, high quality and safe
service to people with additional needs, whilst working as part of a
team and in consultation with each service user. In addition, you will
make sure all the clients’ needs are met in a way that is in a
completely individual way, and as an ambassador of the company values
you will represent the best quality – providing the best-in-class
care always. In addition, you will be responsible for the delivery of
client care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation
of support plans, ensure that practices within the service comply with
resilience's policies and procedures, to maintain the highest
standards, liaise with multi-disciplinary teams ('MDTS') when
required, provide support to colleagues within the team setting, act
as a mentor for new staff and foster a positive learning environment,
participate in the development and review of risk assessments and
report concerns.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
To succeed as a support worker, you will need to have previous
experience working with adults with physical, sensory, and
intellectual disability. Experience working with service users with
autism and epilepsy is a distinct advantage. FETAC level 5/social care
qualification or equivalent is essential. Finally, you will have a
strong sense of empathy, flexibility, and a team-oriented work ethic.
A full driver’s licence is desirable but not essential.
