* Core responsibility: design and development of a web application, as well as ongoing testing and improvement of the products developed.
* Develop feature specification documents, UI specifications, author internal documentation, and participate in the review of these documents.
* To be active in the whole software development process from requirements analysis to deployment and ongoing improvement of final products developed.
* Collaborating with the project manager and other team members adding innovative ideas to the project plans.
* Operating in both solo and team situations, to develop software, system functionality and stress testing tools.
* The development of extensive administrative, reporting and analytics applications for deployment with our products.
* Build large complex yet scalable and continually extensible systems across a number of projects.
* Integrating other technologies, API's, libraries and middleware products for use with our projects.
Skills and Experience required
* Minimum of Degree level education. Computer Science/Software Development focus preferred.
* Extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of modern OO languages.
* Ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* Understanding of analysis and design methods such as UML modelling.
* Experience with running and scripting for Linux based operating systems.
Pluses
* In particular, having a strong knowledge of the Python programming language is a good advantage.
* Knowledge of one or more modern web application languages. PHP, Perl, Ruby, etc..
* Experience with desktop application development, .NET, C/C++, Winsock networking or the windows kernel.
* Knowledge of server Virtualization technologies, VMware or Xen.
* Experience with development of /management of online communities.
* Agile project workflow techniques.
* Solid knowledge of any or all internet technologies, such as JavaScript/HTML/CSS, AJAX, graphic, animation or multimedia is desirable.
* Experience working with code repository systems, having the ability to branch code and roll up branched work back into the trunk of projects.
