North West City School Completion Programme: Project Worker
PROJECT WORKER

North West City School Completion Programme serves the North West area
of Cork City, working in 7 primary schools and 3 post ? primary
schools. The Management Committee invites applications for the
position of project worker. This is a fixed term contract of **Apply
on the website** hours per week, ending on 9th July **Apply on the
website**.

The primary objective of this position is to engage with a target
group of young people , aged 6 to **Apply on the website** years who
have been identified as being at risk of early school leaving and to
enable them to acquire learning and group work skills which will allow
them to productively participate in their education and there by
maximise their potential.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A third level qualification and experience in relevant fields such as
education, social science, youth and community and social inclusion.

DUTIES:

* Working with young people on an individual and group basis who are
targeted for support by North West City SCP.
* Developing, facilitating and implement age appropriate programmes
in response to the identified needs of the targeted students.
* Plan, implement and evaluate after school and holiday programmes.
* To collaborate with SCP colleagues, school staff and various
agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for targeted students.
* Maintaining detailed case and programme plans ? based on an
outcome focussed model of working.
* Reporting regularly to the SCP Co-ordinator and Management
Committee

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL IDEALLY HAVE;

* Two years? practical experience working with young people in a
similar field of expertise
* A knowledge and understanding of the Education system- and in
particular educational disadvantage
* Familiarity with DEIS programmes
* An understanding of Logic Model Planning and Evaluation tools
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficient IT skills
* Full driver?s licence essential ? successful candidate must
have own transport.

Salary in line with City of Dublin Youth Services Board salary scale.
