RESEARCH ASSISTANT

Pieta provide a range of counselling services for people who are
suicidal, engage in self-harm or who are bereaved by suicide. Pieta

Reporting to the Clinical Programme Manager, Pieta are now seeking to
recruit a Research Assistant. Initially working remotely, the role
will then be based in Pieta Head Office, First Floor Greenhills Retail
Park, Greenhills Road, Tallaght, Dublin **Apply on the website**,

HOURS: **Apply on the website** hours per week over 5 days (Monday to
Friday, 9am-5pm)
CONTRACT TYPE: 1 year fixed term employed contract, with the
possibility of extension

JOB

The successful candidate will work as part of the Clinical Programme
team. The aim is to support the development and delivery a research
programme to further the vision of Pieta.

DUTIES:

* Providing research support (e.g. using quantitative and qualitative
methods)
* Providing IT support for the mobile App
* Liaising with, establishing and maintaining connections with
various Health Care Professionals and other relevant stakeholders
* Recruiting Health Care Professionals, teens who have undergone
major surgery and their parents to take part in research
* Undertaking field data collection (e.g. running interview and
focus groups) and editing this data for dissemination
* Writing publications for peer reviewed journals under the
direction of the PI
* Presenting at national and international conferences
* Participating in team meetings
* Contributing to the development of grant applications, including
supporting the writing of bids for research grants
* Contributing to and coordinating preparation of research reports
for funders and other bodies

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Essential Requirements:

* Undergraduate Degree in Psychology or relevant Social Science
* Strong research, analytical and writing skills, including
accessing information quickly and strategically
* Evidence of formulating, planning and carrying out a research
project
* Excellent communication skills, in particular, report writing,
review writing and presentation skills
* Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
* Good knowledge of statistics
* Evidence of the ability to work independently and collaboratively
within a small, dynamic team
* Personal commitment, enthusiasm, professional attitude and
positive role model

Desirable Requirements:

* Experience of conducting research studies
* Master?s Degree in Psychology or a relevant Social Science
* Knowledge of intervention evaluation
* Experience of presenting at academic meetings and/or publishing in
peer reviewed journals
